If whoever wrote that page was drunk enough to think sorting months alphabetically was valid, what are the odds that they counted every w10 upgrade popup as a successful install?
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

From the article:
"NetMarketShare records actual OS usage (based on web browsing)"
In other words, not actual, actual OS usage, but actual web browsing usage.
"But, how do you count unique systems?"
"Shut up and go away."

Technique works on virtually all USB drives with no modifications necessary. Sooooo, you just need physical access to get the data? Brilliant!
80bps. I think actually copying the data to the USB stick might be a little faster.
But I guess I'm just not being hackerish enough.

Is there any problem that a new programming language can't solve?
(This one has some good ideas on variable access, but I think if you are going down that road a functional language might be a better fit than a procedural one anyway?)
What we should attempt to do with programming languages is have the safest path use the fewest keywords. For example if you have to use a keyword to make a variable mutable after class initiation you end up with safer by-products of any developer laziness. Make all variable initiation mandatory (so if you want something to be initialised to null you have to type that) and so on.

someone wrote: Sun-like star .
Ahem...
I believe they meant ==> Star-like sun.
Get's your facts straight!!

Sun-like star is perfectly normal. The "Sun" being the star around which Earth revolves. "Sun-like" thus implies a star of a similar type / size / age.
Star-like sun on the other hand seems meaningless.

It's the time to strike when we are at peace, fat and lazy. Even your cat knows to wait until the prey is not alert and ready to bite.

I'd love this to be a real signal sent from aliens, so that we could later say : well, we first joked about it in the Lounge before it being one of the biggest piece of news in mankind.*
*And yes, it will take at least 190 years for them to send an answer to our signal, so we will not see it happen, but still...

I suspect we are not capable of sending a signal that distance with enough power to raise it above the background noise!
