Sometimes it's just because you burnout. Sometimes you suddenly think; I just can't do this anymore.
(Having said that, I once worked five straight days with about eight total hours of sleep. Got eight hours and then worked another twelve. I was rewriting a completely broken feature two weeks before release. Took me three months to write meaningful code again.)

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

I feel you. I once worked 40 hours straight, because some salesman told the customer that we could have a new feature in one week before release. I was the only one on the team that had any experience working with that type of functionality, so of course, I got convicted... I mean, selected.

And that salesperson suddenly had very poor luck keeping nails out of their tires?

Unfortunately not. It was in the late 90's and I worked for a consulting firm out of Chicago. I was assigned to a project in Allentown, PA, so no way of knowing who it was. I lived 4 states away, so I had to catch a flight home after that stent. Once I got home, I went straight to bed and slept most of the weekend. That Sunday night, I had to catch a flight back. I was in my mid 30's then, so I could handle it and the money was really good.

Fortunately I'm approaching an age when I'll soon have no recollection of those times!

The problem IMAO is that some of us are too willing to "take one for the team". Just as it's possible to make a good horse destroy itself with overwork, it is possible for humans.
Good developers must learn to say "no", and be firm about it.
One solution would be to refuse to stay at work even one minute longer per day than the bozo in marketing who made the impossible commitment. Either said bozo will be driven into a nervous breakdown if he/she/it/... actually stays the course (WIN!), or they will see that they asked for more than mortals can be expected to deliver (win, win!).

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Microsoft has reminded customers today that Windows 10 2004 (all editions) and Windows Server 2004 (Datacenter, Standard editions) will reach the end of servicing on December 14, 2021. Am I the only one that has trouble keeping track of the versions of "the last version of Windows"?

Don't worry. In a year you can change to the problem of keeping track of the last 'last' version of Windows.

We continue to evolve Uno Platform in lockstep with the latest Microsoft developer platforms and tooling. Our 3.10 release supports .NET 6 RC1, latest developments in WinUI and Windows 11 Fluent Styles (aka “Sun Valley”). One platform to support them all, and on the desktop run them
Meanwhile, Microsoft's own cross-platform tooling (MAUI) can't keep up with .NET 6[^]

I am sure that 'Microsoft Uno' is still just a matter of time.

A survey of 1,200 people offers some intriguing and, frankly, sorrowful conclusions about the future. Will you have to pay for an oil change and video download first?
Perhaps some "Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon"?

of the 40%, 20% are just desperate; 20% are perverts, and 20% are freaks.

Of those 40%, 100% are horny
I don't really see the issue though.
People, especially women, use all kinds of toys, so why not a human-looking (and human-behaving!) toy?
Some well-trained AI is certain to hit that spot.
And while an advanced sex robot is probably pretty expensive, it's probably still cheaper than the real deal in the long run
