That phrase should not be used in conjunction with the phrase "Federal Government." Besides being an oxymoron, it's an insult to the people.

Heh. But you have to love this:
...he explained that the agency would be able to tightly control who could access GeoQ, vetting the outside developers and reviewing the code they contribute before allowing it into the application.
Makes sense, of course, but it sounds a lot like the gov't trying to get work done for free. Don't they already tax us enough to pay for developers???

The best practices for enterprise security are well known. So why are so few companies implementing them? People, people, people, people, people, and people?
Or: users, users, etc.

You are repeating yourself. You keep saying the same thing, over and over. Is there an echo?

A leaked build of the upcoming Office 2016 for Windows release has revealed that Microsoft is updating the desktop client to include a new "colorful" theme that’s identical to the latest Mac, iOS, and Android apps. "And that has made all the difference."

Or maybe, I believe, Android apps were designed on the base of Windows 10's theme. Android always defines the actual theme, after Microsoft releases a new product. Microsoft is always better than other companies developing software... In the way of design, and efficiency. Now if someone hates them for not being a free product, then yes they're worst.

Considering how people actually use "the thing", it's interesting that we still call "it" a phone. It's more like a pocket PC with the ability to make phone calls.
So, is your pocket PC making you dumb? I think it really depends on the task and how one defines "dumb". For example, if your dependency on GPS makes you lose your ability to navigate on your own, then yes, I think you'll look pretty dumb when your gadget stops working all of a sudden (while this is not so much of a concern for older folks like me, what about the younger generations?)
On the other hand, if you look at tasks like using it as a calendar to manage your appointments or address book, then no, I think it's not making you dumb because in this regards, "the thing" is just a more advanced notebook to keep that information, and people used pen and paper to make notes for ages.
Nonetheless, I think the more one depends on technology to solve a problem, the more he or she loses her natural abilities to do it. Just look at how to make a fire without a lighter or match...
