What’s going on is that the two indexes have very different methodologies … although what their methodologies have in common is both are very questionable, if the objective is to measure the popularity of programming languages. Random number generators gotta be random

As HP put it at the event, “this isn’t a PC that’s wrapped in leather, it’s a PC that’s made of leather.” "Oh, my."
I was going to go with "Hell bent, Hell bent for leather.", but I was worried about offending some.
Mind you, I probably offended some by mentioning that I might offend some, so, sorry for that.
Oh, and sorry for apologizing there. I know that might offend some people.
I'm feeling mighty Canadian today. (Hopefully that doesn't offend anyone).

You had me up until "mighty Canadian"
Actually, it made me think of "You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn"
Which made me think of "mighty rivers" and lumberjacks.

It is actually mad of plastics and wrapped in leather... Too gentle and easily breakable... Me think the aluminium case was there for good reason...

You could have gone with "Black as night, faster than a shadow". That would be a cool marketing ad!
I have a costly, brand new laptop for work. It sucks a lot. For the same price I could have bought an Alienware. But hey, Company's money...

BrainNet provides the first multi-person brain-to-brain interface which allows a nonthreatening direct collaboration between human brains. "If you could read my mind, love what a tale my thoughts could tell"

I can't even read my own mind, how the hell is anyone else going to do it?

What makes a lot of us treat our solution as the best, while talking bad about other solutions? "No time for losers 'cause we are the champions"
|
|
|
|
|
I think in a lot of domains, not just software, there are some more-or-less objectively bad solutions; but there are almost always several good solutions, with no one of those solutions being objectively better than the others.

Robot Operating System (ROS) is an open source robotics middleware originated by Willow Garage and Stanford’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory that provides low-level device control, hardware abstraction, and other useful services. Hopefully the robots will take the BSODs well (and not start killing us in response)

Today, we're re-open-sourcing MS-DOS on GitHub. Why? Because it's much easier to find, read, and refer to MS-DOS source files if they're in a GitHub repo than in the original downloadable compressed archive file. For those still curious how the official file copy code looks
As opposed to what it does now - think for 15 minutes, *then* copy that 5k file to the destination folder. All while displaying a 85% done progress bar.

Solid lets you decide where info resides and who can use it. Yeah, what does he know about the web?
Seems to me I use that one whenever there's an article about him. My poor one track mind. Hopefully there's never a need to divert to kill five people.

How can you talk about control, data, and the web without using the above tech???
