I wanna to add a zero at the left of a number if the number was lesser that 10, if the users insert it.

Could you guide me, how I can do it with String.Format.

You can specify a format in the ToString method of the numeric type.
i.e. an int:

int number = 2;
string numberString = number.ToString("00");

Hi.
I'm gonna send this byte "10010101" to serial port.
I know , I have to use SerialPort[^] component , but I don't know how I can send a byte to serial port.
Let's write a example :
We have a textbox, the user inserts "10010101" into the textbox and we have to send this byte to serial port.

Could you please guide me ?

Your problem might is not related with serial port-it's sample conversion issue.You could convert this string "10010101"
to byte using System.Convert class.

<br />
  byte b=Convert.ToByte("10010101",2)<br />

2 is the base of the number.Now b should be 149 decimal.

Your question is incomprehensible. If you're asking how to convert a Delphi project to one of the .NET lanugages, you have to rewrite the project from scratch. There is no conversion tool as far as I know.

Hi,

I have a winform which checks for emails in outlook and downloads attachment (Excel sheet) and read/display the contents to the user. This is currently done on a button click event. Is it possible to do this task without the user having to click on the button.ie each time a new email arrives the application automatically downloads the attahment , reads/displays the contents to the user?

The button click code is like this

{
Class.DownloadAttachment();
Class.Process();
}

It is possible, but is it desirable?
Would you want your work to be continually interrupted? It would become very irritating and would almost certainly result in people not wanting to use your software.

If DownloadAttachment() and Process() are static methods of a class called Class, your choice of 'Class' as a class name is a really, really bad idea.

Hi,

I have an object that performe a security check before setting a property

Class Issue

string _status
string Status {

set {

if (Value == "urgent" && current.User.IsManager)
_status = "urgent"
else
throw exception

}

get { return _status}

}

The problem arise when I just need to fill the status property from data coming from the Database.
Is there any proper OO way to leave the business logic in the object while allowing at least the db layer to fill this proerty?
At the moment, I have a IssueManager that is responsible to execture CRUD methods on the DB on behalf of Issue.

Probably not the correct OO way to do it, we use a bool flag bLoading to short circuit this problem.

Have a local bool bLoading default to true, when the constructor is completed set bLoading to false

In the status check put the following

if(bLoading){return;}

in the first line.

Have the IssueManager class create the Issue object by means of a constructor that doesn't do a security check. If, for whatever reason, that won't work for you, you could always default to using reflection to manually set the _status field after instantiating the object.

Yeah, a constructor that only the DB code uses.

Or maybe in serialization/deserialization code.

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
