I would use System.DateTime.MinValue or .MaxValue depending on whether I want them sorted to the top or bottom.

i'm using vs.net c# & Report Designer component CRAXDDRT V XI 2
i've added an OleObject in the report page header section by the folowing line
OleObject PicObject = m_Report.Sections[SecNo].AddPictureObject(Application.StartupPath + "\\DefaultLogo.bmp", 0, 0) it's added successfully but after that when i try to change the photo path (Graphic Location) by
PicObject.SetOleLocation("NewPath + "\\AnotherLogo.bmp");
the following error msg appears : 'Access is denied'
I would appreciate your help ...

Hi there,
In Windows form we have a option in the property of the form called 'Opacity' which enables us to set the transparency settings of the form. However, I want that without making the form transperable, only the Buttons should be transperant. So, please tell me guys, which way can I make only the buttons in a form look transperant.

I want to display the contents of an excel file into my windows form using visual c#. I tried using the binding source option from the the toolbox and creating a data set by giving the link to my excel sheet.
But i am not understanding, how to display the data in my windows form.

Windows uses a backslash as a path separator.
Visual Studio shows solution and project items in its solution pane, they reflect real files and folders.

Bad style. What if nothing was selected in the ComboBox?
Split the line in several lines, compute the filename first, so you can look at it, then call FileInfo.
For the filename, safest approach may be to use an absolute path, something like:

string filename=@"C:\myfolder\myproject\Sol1\data\"+item.ToString()+".mdb";

Not sure what it is you want, here are some facts:
- you can only read/write files in existing folders;
- you can create folders using Directory.CreateDirectory (there is no need to test existence first).
- some folders may be "write protected" or "access denied" (more so on Vista).
- there are some "preferred locations" for data files belonging to an app, for data files for a particular user, etc. Have a look at Environment.GetFolderPath(). Don't be surprised if the result depends on the Windows version ("Documents and Settings" on XP became "Users" on Vista).
I tend to use Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData quite a lot.

However you created it, it still is a regular folder, it lives on your disk, and technically it has no relationship with your project or solution.
And it will not exist on another machine.
