importance of Boxing and unboxing concept could easily be understood by the ArrayList class,
As u can see that the Arraylist is capable of storing any objects, this is bcoz of boxing and unboxing... this is mainly possible, since all the objects will be inherited from the class called object....

A common example of the use of boxing, is when you send values to the Format method:
string.Format("{0}: {1:C2}", name, price);
Here, the parameters following the format string are of the type object. Value types are boxed so that they conform to being objects.
This way you can mix any data types in the call to the Format method, without there having to be an infinite number of overloads to accomodate for any combination of types.

You can ask questions with more specific. Say you started to write a program like what you said earlier, you can ask the problems faced, or how to do something ? May be you will get answers. But I am sure that no one here will send you the code for the program which you are asking.

when i am creating new asp .net c# project on my PC my solution will work fine but when i get the project from VSS on my PC then this project is not working it shows me the below error

The solution appears to be under source control, but its binding information cannot be found. It is possible that the MSSCCPRJ.SCC file or another item that holds the source control settings for the solution, has been deleted. Because it is not possible to recover this missing information automatically, the projects whose bindings are missing will be treated as not under source control.

I have 3 questions,
1. has anyone been trying to make some class or libs for resizing control?
for example, if I resize the parent control (i.e form Control), then all the contained control also resized.
2. I have an apps which retrieve a lot of data from database and present the data to richTextBox control. My problem is, when apps is still adding the data and I clicked somewhere on the form, the form will show white screen (similar to non-responding application) but it is still running somehow. How can I halt (or prevent maybe) that click operation so even if I clicked anywhere the form layout will still be the same?
3. similar question like before, I retrieve a lot of database using SqlDataReader class. How can I cancel the operation within the apps? (like 'press ESC to cancel' or something like that?)

You can use Anchor for that.

1 - Run that long operation on another thread, which don't make problem for your GUI
Or
2 - Show a modal form with a progress indicator, and close the form after data is loaded

Are you putting a loop and reading the contents ? If yes maintain a flag, and when ESC key is pressed, change the flag value to false. Check this value inside loop and break it.

following are the simple answers..
1- use Anchor and Dock properties for your contained controls.
2- do your data fetching in separate thread so that your GUI remains responsive
3- SqlDataReader class didn't support the cancel funcitonality according to my knowledge (may be i am wrong)
but if i am right then have to implement the logic for the cancellation.

Emergency Fellow Coders! RED ALERT! This sucks 
I have the SIMPLEST problem ever and maybe I have a brain freeze, but here goes.
1. Page loads, I bind a value to a TextBox. (i.e., "Dog")
2. The user changes the value of the text box. (i.e., "Dog & Cat")
3. The user clicks "SUBMIT"
4. "Dog" is entered into the Database?
What the heck is going on here? How does this stupid IDE NOT know that the value of the TextBox control has changed? Do I need to add anything else here, or what am I forgetting?
Please help!

When a submit is clicked, before executing it's click event, ASP.NET will execute page_load once again. This changed the entered value to the previous one. So you need to change your page_load to something like
if(!IsPostBack)

I bought a new computer and installed Visual Studio 2005 Prof + Pack1 + AJAX 1.0 ( on Windows XP prof ), but my web site code ( C# ) that was working fine in the old system, now it shows errors. The Ajax controls appear in the Toolbox and yet it seems that the error message is related to AJAX extensions.
Here is the error message:
Error 107 C:\WEB development\SparkingIdeas\Default.aspx: ASP.NET runtime error: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. (C:\WEB development\SS\web.config line 82) C:\WEB development\SS\Default.aspx 1 1 C:\WEB development\SS\
I even restored the computer before the AJAX installation restore point and then reinstalled it again but the problem still persists.
How to fix this problem ?

Not sure, but it sounds like there is something on your old machine that is not on the new machine that it is looking for.

Add reference of your ajax dll's in your web application.
the error clearly says that Microsoft.Web.Extensions file reference is missing.
and plz add the reference to the correct file version too.

I just found out that the cause of the problem was that the new AJAX that I downloaded and installed few days ago is actually of a more recent version.
It builds different references in the web.config and also in the pages that use AJAX controls.
I replaced those references and I do not get those error messages anymore.
