Hi,
I am trying to create an ActiveX using C#, which includes inside it a WebBrowser control.
This ActiveX is hosted in a web page (so I get a WebBrowser control inside and ActiveX inside a web browser).
Since it didn't work, I googled a bit and found this article from Microsoft which explains that it is not possible:

after googling a bit more, I found the following posting (http://www.gidforums.com/t-10613.html[^]) which basically tells that calling AfxEnableControlCOntainer solves the problem.
I made a small C++ ActiveX to test this, and indeed, calling AfxEnableControlContainer makes it possible.
My question is - what does AfxEnableControlContainer actually do, and more importantly, how can I do the same in C# ?
I am an experienced C++/MFC and .Net/C# developer, so I can take a 'low-level' solution.

Hi all, I'm having a problem that is driving me mad...
I have a tablelayout panel that can have several subpanels in a column. These subpanels must resize as the tablelayout panel resizes, but under a minimum size a horizontal scollbar must appear. A vertical scrollbar is used to scroll the content when these subpanels go out the window.
The subpanels have a varying height, that is they can be opened and closed with a button to show/hide their content.
The problem is that when I open a panel and this makes a vertical scrollbar to appear, .net first creates the V.scrollbar and then creates a H scrollbar because the Vertical one hides a few pixel. But as I said the width should resize with the tablelayout.
I cannot find a way to avoid the H scrollbar to appear only to scroll the 17 px hidden by the V scrollbar. I tried many (really too many) possible solutions without luck.

Hi all,
I need to know the correct path where is installed my software.
I need this because i have to update my software only by copying
one file into the installation path.
So, i can launch my upgrade and only by Software name i have to copy
correctly my file.

Check the dll of the current application where it is or check the registry/Control panel

No yar if you know the name of the dll then only you have do is
search for that dll using Operating System Search option which you find in Start Menu ......
Or go to Start Menu then Control Panel - then add and Remove programme see if your aaplication is listed there

But i have to do this all automatically...
No to go on control panel->add remove....
I have to launch my update batch-program and so it have to copy
my file into this folder, only with software name information.

OK i thought you are asking manually
i think while installing your appaication it should have crated some folder at specific position in machine Check that FOlder name in the machine using DirectoryInfo class. Then i think you know better than me What you have to do  Sorry boss i thought you want that manually

The path to the exe file can be retrieved using
Application.StartupPath
|

If you need to figure out the path of the currently executing app, use Environment.CurrentDirectory
If your updater program has to find out where the app has been installed, write the path to the registry during installation and read it from there during the update.

My problem is that I cannot change the text of an label when passing label as an argument to a function in a different class. for example.
void ChangeLabelText(Label myLabel)
{
myLabel.Text = "It's working!";
}
This function is not in my main class. is there any other way to do this?
p.s. it works fine with listbox

Try one of the following...
1)
Label ChangeLabelText(Label myLabel)

return myLabel;
}
2)
void ChangeLabelText(ref Label myLabel)
{
myLabel.Text = "It's working!";

The function through wich I change the label of text is actually a function triggered every second by an timer event.
I wrote a new function and the text of a label is changing.
But in this timer event function it is not changing.
I checked if timer event is actually raising every second and it is. I put a messagebox.show before the label.Text = "Whatever" and I get a messagebox every second but still text of a label is not changing. wtf???????

After raising the timer event perhaps some other event might be raising somewhere in the code where it might be assigning previous text.

You can not set the Text property from a different thread than the UI thread directly (I think that is what you are doing, reading your answer to the above post).
you have to use Invoke to switch to UI thread (see help about Invoke).

Hai every body,

I want to maintain different cultures for different users who is browsing my page.
I tried this with the web.config file but this will change it globally.
Then I tried by setting the culture information in the Session and then I call it in the each page.
Let me know, is there any other solution available instead of the above.

Hello!
I´m having a problem with an application. This app has two windows, one as main view, one for entering some value that pops up when the value is needed.
Sometime it happens that another application fetches the window-focus and so theres no focus on my input window. In order to see that i made the inputbox change it´s color. I´m using the "deactivate"-event to do this.
Unfortunately this doesn´t work always. Does anybody have any idea why this could be so?

Would you please suggest me taht how to process large .csv files(more than 1000 lines) FASTER, so that it can be processed faster by XML Processor to convert into xml files.
But it works with small file(less than 1000 lines). But incase of large .csv files it gives following Memory Managament Error.
"Your system is low on virtual memory.Windows is increasing the size of the virtual memory paging file...."
or
Can anyone help me to split above large file(more than 15MB) to smaller files(5MB each), so that the above processing can be continued smoothly.
Please solve my problem with the code in C#.NET

Thanks for your reply. But I am looking to add fields, items (like adding dropr down boxes)dynamically in a property grid and not in data grid.
If you have any solution can you please let me know ?

Hello Rajan,
Smart PropertyGrid.Net is the perfect candidate to let you add properties at runtime. It could be in a loop, you call AppendProperty, set its look and the inplace control it must use, and voila!
