I am new to the sharepoint 2007 and i would like to create blog site using sharepoint API in my C# application.Please give the URLs or code snippet to create blog site using sharepoint API.

Hi
I am using Visual Studio 2005 and C#. In my Windows application I load data from database into a DataSet. Is there a way to determine which DataRow in a DataTable caused an error when you update the database via a DataAdapter? What I would like to do is display to the user a short report when the update fails so that he can see which DataRow caused a problem.

there is a datatype of varchar(max) in an input parameter of a stored procedure in sql server 2005 that I am using.
What datatype should I pass via C# to sql server for this varchar(max)?
This is what I have at present but it does not work.

I have a usercontrol in form1 which has a button in it. When user press this button I create a FORM class and add my usercontrol to it with the code below:

Control c = this.Parent;
form.Controls.Add(c);
form.Controls[0].Dock = DockStyle.Fill;
form.Controls[0].Location = new Point(0, 0);

The second form shown correctly but the problem is the UserControl disappear from the main form. Any idea?

Hi,
I want to improve the following query's performance executing on sqlce.
select *
from TABLE_A
where field_a in (select field_a
from TABLE_B
where field_b = '0000162080'
and field_c = '2'
and field_d = '011')
order by field_e
Table_A has index for field_a and Table_B has index for field_b and field_c. How can I rewrite the query to execute faster?

I have a custom section defined in the app.config of my application and I want to read the parameters and store the values in a custom class, but I find that the code for ConfigurationManager.GetSection()
returns a null value, and I can't find the reason.

The article forum itself complains of even build errors and the article is under-voted. Also to secure the systems from being succumbing to spam, most of the Indian providers have stopped supporting email to sms gateways.
You can try using one of the SMS service providers I have reviewed from here:

I am developing a project which has a web project as a part of it. Now to use it, i need to first install IIS. Is there any way, that my setup project will also install IIS if it does not already exist.
Also, can i create virtual directory in IIS from C# code ?

IIS is part of Windows media. So I would suggest instead of bundling those files, you can just detect and prompt for IIS to the user.
You can, however, create virtual directories from C# Code (using System.DirectoryServices)

So you are suggesting not to bundle those IIS files in installer. Rather, give user a prompt to install IIS. Can you please tell me why ?
I just need to know, does it have any bad consequences ? Is there any chance of License Related Legal issues or copy right infringement ? Also, is there any other system related problems ? or any other ?

Because different versions off IIS require different versions of Windows. On top of that, you'll probably also have to install service packs and hot fixes, which you would also have to bundle with your installer.
Basically, you're taking on the responsibility of screwing up someones server when they install your app. Don't.
You simply have to tell the end users that IIS is a requirement to install and run your application. Let the user decide how best to handle the installation of IIS and any fixes, so it doesn't screw up the rest of their server.

How to delete this object? I dont want to wait for the garbage collector to run its algorithm neither call the GC explicitly.

Why do you want the object deleted?
If you are using some unmanaged resources that you need to release, implement the IDisposable interface.

But the destructor (or Finalizer as it is also called) won't run until the garbage collector does. And then when a destructor is in place it slows garbage collection down because it has additional code to run.

To re-emphasise what Guffa said. If you have unmanaged resources, or otherwise use objects that also implement IDisposable then you should implement IDisposable to free up or dispose of those resources. If those conditions are not met then let the garbage collector do its job - it is better at it than anyone else.

The reason for this explicit object release is in our application in we are creating n number of objects for a specific operation after that operation is finished we no longer require thise objects
We thought that the performance would be better if we explicitly release objects than waiting for the GC to do at later stages!
So the answer is ti implement IDisposable! thank you!

Depends. Do you have objects that already implement IDisposable to dispose of in the object, or do you manage any unmanaged resources in the object? If the answer is no to either then IDisposable won't do anything for you.
Remember, the Garbage Collector knows more about the system state and when it would be an opportune moment to garbage collect things than you do because it can constantly fine tune itself.
