Can't you import those DLLs, and call them in your C# app.

I could ask someone here at work but ill post this question here..
Lets say I want to setup a client application and I want to send another application jobs to do but send them via the client app on a wireless network. Do you think I should use something like soap to do this? Or is there a better way?
Thanks.

Web services will work fine. If the apps are going to be located behind the same firewall, use remoting.

I will have to look into remoting.
Thanks!

I heard from a discussion lately that there is a problem in .NET 1.1 that Microsoft is not going to fix. Therefore the particular client needs to upgrade to .net 2.0 because of that particular issue.
Trying to remember what that issue was that I heard, but do not remember.
Any thought of that could be please?

You don't say whether this is for WinForms or ASP.NET
Look here for ASP.NET[^]
or here for WinForms[^]

Hi,
I'm trying to consume a webservice using vb6. I've attached to the service via c# and i can get it to work fine and i've gota copy of the message that VB6 is sending to the service which is not working.
What do i have to do to get a copy of the message that c# is sending out in order to compare it with the version from VB6? So much of the .net connection happens under the covers that i'm finding it very confusing.
Thanks in advance for your help

Here's a fun little app written in C# using .NET Frameworks 2.0.
See: XML Notepad 2007.
Handy features include:
- Tree View synchronized with Node Text View for quick editing of node names and values.
- Incremental search (Ctrl+I) in both tree and text views, so as you type it navigates to matching nodes.
- Cut/copy/paste with full namespace support.
- Drag/drop support for easy manipulation of the tree, even across different instances of XML Notepad and from the file system.
- Infinite undo/redo for all edit operations.
- In place popup multi-line editing of large text node values.
- Configurable fonts and colors via the options dialog.
- Full find/replace dialog with support for regex and XPath.
- Good performance on large XML documents, loading a 3mb document in about one second.
- Instant XML schema validation while you edit with errors and warnings shown in the task list window.
- Intellisense based on expected elements and attributes and enumerated simple type values.
- Support for custom editors for date, dateTime and time datatypes and other types like color.
- Handy nudge tool bar buttons for quick movement of nodes up and down the tree.
- Inplace HTML viewer for processing xml-stylesheet processing instructions.
- Built-in XML Diff tool.
Enjoy!

Chris, thanks for this. I've been using the 2006 version occasionally for the past couple of months. Will try the new version.

I noticed that the msi is half the size of the 2006 version!

Right - I'm moving the source code out to codeplex. No need to flood people's machines with source code unless they really want it.

i want to set focus on a row in gridview by typing on a column.
this should happen in a way that i move the focus on a column of the gridview and just type in a word and the focus should automatically be moved to the cell with the matching word.and yes by typing in a word doesn't mean i have to provide a textbox somewhere on the grid.all this essentially has to be for a windows forms.can anyone suggest me a solution for this

hi there i think theres is an API in the Phone you can use it to do this where there is an API for Bluetooth and API for SMS (this is For smartphone and pocket PC and Windows CE ) so i think you can go to MSDN and find what you want...............

Thanks, but I can’t use a Smarthone.
I need to code a server, which looks up for SMS and “download” them from the mobile phone.
AND it doesn’t matter, what mobile phone it is. Even a Motorola or something.

Hi all,
I have created a Setup Deployment project and i am successfully able to create a installer which install the application and also creates a shortcut to the app in the Start->Programs Menu.
Now i want to add an option to UnInstall the application in the Program's Menu. Similar to what we have for Real Player / WinAmp
How do i do that?
Thanks & Regards,
Pramod
