matlab and .NET Google Search[^] might help you. In the future, it is a good idea not to include your email address in public view. If someone wants to email you, they'll click on the |Email| link...

Hi,
In my application i'm having a picture box which is shown when a certain button is clicked. Also simutaneously, im calling a procedure using threading which will perform an operation using webservice and show results in a datagrid(i'm using a 'component one truedbgrid'). After the threading operation is done, i'm making the picture box invisible.
My problem is as soon as the picturebox becomes invisible, the scrollbar in the datagrid just goes off..and i cant scroll in the grid. I cant understand why this is happening. Can anyone plz help me in this? I'd really appreciate that..
Thanks,
Deepa

This doesn't sound like a problem with threading. As a test, why not show the picturebox and then retrieve the information from the DB without any thread code. Once the data has been returned, make the picture box invisible again. Does the problem still occur? If so, it sounds like it's a problem with TrueDbGrid - and that should be raised through their support/forums.

Hi,
i tried first without using threading...but since the results take little time to load in the datagrid, the picturebox hangs. The picturebox is .gif file, it shows a plane moving, which i've used instead of a progressbar. But when i click on the button, the picturebox appears, but the plane doesn't move..its hanged...it becuase of the search procedure that happens on buttonclick event...
Thats why i thought i should use threading and put the search procedure in the threading job..so the gif shows the plane moving fine...the datagrid also loads fine with the data..only thing is as soon as the pic box is invisible, the scrollbar in the grid goes off

Errm - OK. That wasn't what I was asking. What I was suggesting was that you removed the threading from the problem to see if the symptoms are the same when you run the code without it.

Have you tried playing with the ScrollBars properties in your TrueDBGrid?
|
|
|
|
|
There a property for the grid 'ScrollTrack' this boolean type..so it is set to true...The scroll bar is seen when the search results come in the datagrid, but when the picture box is invisible, then scrollbar also goes off...i dont get why this happens

hi can anyone convert this VB lines to C#?
Dim RAW, arHex_Char_Set, mCounter, mKey, mOffset, Raw_Key, Hex_Cryp_Data<br />
Dim EPassword As String = TextBox1.Text<br />
Raw_Key = Right(EPassword, Len(EPassword) - InStr(EPassword, "|"))<br />
mOffset = Right(Raw_Key, Len(Raw_Key) - InStr(Raw_Key, "|"))<br />
mKey = Hex_Converter(Left(Raw_Key, InStr(Raw_Key, "|") - 1)) - Hex_Converter(mOffset)<br />
Hex_Cryp_Data = Left(EPassword, Len(EPassword) - (Len(Raw_Key) + 1))<br />
<br />
arHex_Char_Set = Split(Hex_Cryp_Data, Hex(mKey))<br />
<br />
For mCounter = 0 To UBound(arHex_Char_Set)<br />
RAW = RAW & Chr(Hex_Converter(arHex_Char_Set(mCounter)) / mKey)<br />
Next<br />
thanks

Yes. Can you?
Seriously, have a try, and if you are having problems, post up what you have done and we will take a look at them.

ok man,
i tried it before i post, i got the first 3 lines and i am stuck
here are the first 3 lines
<br />
int mCounter, mHxx_Var;<br />
int multiply = 0;<br />
<br />
if (Hex_Var != "")<br />
{<br />
Hex_Var = Hex_Var.ToUpper();<br />
Hex_Var = reverseString(Hex_Var);<br />
P.S: reverseString is a hand made function

To get you started, here's a rough copy:
string raw_key = value.Substring(value.IndexOf("|") + 1);
string offset = raw_key.Substring(raw_key.IndexOf("|") + 1);
string key = raw_key.Substring(0, raw_key.IndexOf("|"));
string hex_cryp_data = value.Substring(0, value.IndexOf("|"));
string[] split = hex_cryp_data.Split('^');
foreach (string item in split)
{
Console.WriteLine(item);
}
It doesn't have in your calls to the hex_convert functions, but you should be able to get an idea of how it works from this.

All I wanted is to fill the TextField in PDF with a String from User. And I try to use PDFSharp.dll to modify a PDF file. I have fund the TextField object and I change it's value and Save it with functions from PDFSharp.dll. However when I open the PDF file I was modified, the text in the TextField are still the old Value. Until I click the TextField the new Value will appear. When the TextField lost the cursor the old Value overwrite new Value again. I mean I must click the TextField and change the Text. Then the changed new Value will be not overwrote. So strenge.......

hi folks,
I have been working on a windows service application which monitors a specific mailbox on an exchange server. The application works as intended with one exception. The exception being the storage of the username and password that will be accessing the mailbox. Currently, as a crude method to test my application, I stored the username and password in an encrypted format in an xml file.
I had the idea that the user account I specified to run the windows service application can be used to access the mailbox provided the user has been granted access via Active Directory (which I have taken care off). By doing this allows me to ensure that the user account is in sync with AD.
The problem is at runtime how do I get the username and password of the account specified to run the windows service application to access the mailbox. I tried the Service Installer Process which has Properties to GET/SET the user name and password but this is only for install time not run time.
Any ideas as to how I can tackle this ? Or maybe what is the best practice way of doing this?
thanks
V

The question seems strange, normally, you set the account when you install the service and this account runs the service, thus accesses the mailbox. So there is no reason to put it in the code. You can look at this by looking at the properties of any other service. Usually they run as System or other services, and if you are an administrator of the domain you do not have to enter any password. Make sure that either the server machine or the Domain Controllers group has access to the mailbox.

thanks for the response. Well I was not clear when I had initially explained, the code I am using to access the mailbox, you need to explicitly provide the username and password. Hence my original question, how does one extract the username and password of the User Account which is running the service applications.

This is one of the features of Windows and most other Os's. One cannot extract the password of a user, no need to explain why!

Ask the author of the addin...If you are using Visual C# Express, it won't work. I've had it work just fine in the other versions of VS 2005...

Hi,
I have a requirement as follows:
I am writing a server application which deals with printing files and some other tasks. My Application will send the files to printer, I want to monitor the status of the file whether its printed or printing or bloked.
How can I do that? Any help will be appreciated.

You should probably use WMI for this:
using System.Management;
....
{
ObjectQuery qry = new ObjectQuery("SELECT * FROM Win32_PrintJob");
ManagementObjectSearcher srchr = new ManagementObjectSearcher(qry);
ManagementObjectCollection coll = srchr.Get();
foreach (ManagementObject mo in coll)
{
string info = string.Format("Driver : {0}\r\nOwner : {1}\r\nName : {2}",
mo["DriverName"].ToString(),
mo["Owner"].ToString(),
mo["Document"].ToString()
);
Console.WriteLine(info);
}
