Use program like HEX editor or viewer. Open your file and you will get proper binary format. Simple convertion from Binary to string results in a broken string. And if you wanted to convert back, you get a non working file

Look into selectedtext, you can specify the start position and the length of the text to be selected. Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

Hi, Thanks for reply.
In ListView cantrol haven't selectedtext , startposition.
I'm using C# .net framework 2.0. I'm not shure , other .net framework versions have selectedtext
property.
Anybody help ?We are haven't bug, just temporarily undecided problems.

You are right, then split the file name into 2 fields when you load the listview, that will give you the granularity you need.
OR use another control!Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

I see you've already posted on the article's forum which is the correct place. Normally you would get flamed for asking here too but it appears the author[^] hasn't been active here for around a year(so maybe take it easy guys n gals?).

Hi
I have 11 Forms in my app.
In Form1 (Ismdicontainer=true) i have 9 buttons
when i click on each button i want to open a new form (Mdiparent as Form1)
Inside each form i created some folders and gridviews..
in Form11 i have openfiledialog..
now i want to open Form1 inside the Openfiledialog to select the files which i have with me...
Thanks in advance..

Openfiledialog is a winforms dialog, you have very limited control over it, you certainly can;t "open form1 inside the dialog" Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

That turns out not to be the case, sort of. You can extend the OpenFileDialog[^] to incorporate whatever you want, which could include thumbnails of existing forms, or buttons to refer to existing forms. I have used this to extend it for viewing templates, etc. many times in the past.
I would agree that trying to include an existing form inside a open dialog is a bit daft, though! You should never use standby on an elephant. It always crashes when you lift the ears. - Mark Wallace

I have seen this kind of functionality in M-Files Application...
For more information look into
Site: Google (search for M-Files).
Thanks & Regards

You can't include an existing form that is being displayed inside a OpenFileDialog, but you can extend the OpenFileDialog to include the controls that are inside your form. See here[^] You should never use standby on an elephant. It always crashes when you lift the ears. - Mark Wallace
