Bwegh, this DataGridView is utterly annoying , it doesn't even respect the EditorAttribute . I wish these guys designed it to be somewhat consistent with the wonderful PropertyGrid . Seems I'll have to simulate similar behaviour by fiddling with the DataGridViewButtonColumn .

Just been using the DataSet designer and just realised you cannot implement partial properties. Certainly in the same way that partial classes are implemented.
What's to define which class is executed first? In partial classes the method blocks are not seperated across files they're in the same file because otherwise which order do you process them in?
Formula 1 - Short for "F1 Racing" - named after the standard "help" key in Windows, it's a sport where participants desperately search through software help files trying to find actual documentation. It's tedious and somewhat cruel, most matches ending in a draw as no participant is able to find anything helpful. - Shog9

Thanks for letting us know that you can't handle Netscape and Opera.
You havn't actually asked a question here.
I'm assuming you're asking for some help in blocking stuff from Opera & Netscape?
The best way would actually be to make the program act as a filter on the ethernet ports. I.e. all data being sent via TCP/IP is sent to your program, it does it's validation, if it fails it doesn't pass on the message (or throws an error), if it passes it allows it to continue on its path to the destination.
As of how to accomplish this I wouldn't have a clue at the moment and I'm too lazy to google it

Do you think AAndrews is annoyed we've hijacked his post?

Here is a link to one I saw yesterday: frog puzzle[^]
The last two sentences were sweet Awww, what the hell, I did the whole thing :->
"If I did your homework for you, then you might pass your class without learning how to write a program like this. Then you might graduate and get your degree without learning how to write a program like this. You might become a professional programmer without knowing how to write a program like this. Someday you might work on a project with me without knowing how to write a program like this. Then I would have to do you serious bodily harm." [Jack Klein]

Now it is a matter of getting CPHog to work on my desktop machine. It works fine on the laptop but not here. Shog and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Same flavor of GreaseMonkey and Firefox and different results.

How secure are these algorithms for cryptography? Can you use these functions for commercial applications or would one need to create your own cryptography hashing function? I want to use one of these cryptography functions to prove that the DB's data has not been tampered with. So on my side the hashing number would be stored as well some 3rd party to show that the two hashing numbers are equal.
MD5CryptoServiceProvider
SHA1CryptoServiceProvider
SHA384Managed
Thanks

Well, if they're supposed to comply with standards then they are as secure as the algorithms themselves. As far as I know MD5 is considered insecure and I think that SHA384 is more secure than SHA1.
Take a look at the following article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptographic_hash_function[^]

If you're asking how secure these standard algorithms are then you should in any case restrain from creating your own algorithm!
If you don't even know the standards, I'm pretty sure everything you can come up with will be a lot weaker than what cryptography specialists have created.

Where can I get thousands of xml files of irrelavant data zipped?
Thanks

Hi,
I have no real online source but you could:
1. Take one file and make thousands of copies.
2. Write a small prog putting out random xml data.
3. Search your hard drives for *.xml. I just did it and found a total of about 1500 files.

Sh*t bro. How dumn is this. I found thousands of xml files, but I cant copy them to another folder. It says 'Cannot move file: Cannot read from the source file or disk'. That is when I want to copy all of them to another folder. Strange!

I think I know this one. Leave away files coming from the Temporary Internet Files (or something similar) directory.
Good luck!

Hi all,
I Have Core Project [3 tier Presentation-business-Data] include Core
functionality, I want to reuse the Core Business functions in another
project because the 2 projects using the same database.
Lets Say this is the Case:
CoreProject: Presentation->business->Data->DB
NewProject: Presentation->business->Data->DB
and
Presentation->CoreProject.business->CoreProject.Data->DB
My Question Is: How and where to add the Core business DLL in the new
project? And in case I want to add the Core business DLL reference to
the New Project Presentation there is conflict because of 2 businesses
DLL (the same name).
Thanks
Ashraf

I am new to c# and oop. I seem to be missing something here. I don't understand why I can't access a function from my Form instance (Form1) from another class in the same namespace. Why does it not recognise the Form1 instance?
Here is my code - the problem is when trying to access Form1.SetFormData(); in the NumberProcessing class.
Could you please insert the correct code where necessary to make it work so I can fully understand what I need to do.
namespace RouletteV1
{
public partial class Form1 : Form
{
public Form1()
{
InitializeComponent();
}
private void btn1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
NumberAttributes.Load(1);
}
public void SetFormData()
{
//here is where I will set the textbox properties
textBox1.Text = "Hello";
}
}
}
--------------
namespace RouletteV1
{
public static class NumberAttributes
{
public void Load(short Number)
{
// load the number data into global properties here
NumberProcessing.UpdateNumArray();
}
}
---------------
namespace RouletteV1
{
public static class NumberProcessing
{
public void UpdateNumArray()
{
// Here I want to call the SetFormData()function in Form1 but it won't recognise it - why???
Form1.SetFormData();
}
}
}
Thanks in advance for your help
