Hi
Is there any code available for sending polish characters in email in .net
examples of few polish characters is this
Jabra BT5010: More voice - Less noise
Drodzy Państwo,
Szybka i klarowna komunikacja jest niezbędna w biznesie, dlatego włąśnie stworzyliśmy słuchawkę Jabra BT5010.
Ramię sliding boom poprawia jakość transmitowanego dźwięku. Ustawienie mikrofonu bliżej ust ułatwia przechwytywanie głosu i niweluje szum otoczenia

Use System.Web.Mail namespace.
Create a mail message instance
MailMessage message=new System.Web.Mail.MailMessage();
set the properties
message.Body="xxxxx" // your mail content (in polish lang)
message.BodyEncoding = Encoding.UTF8; // all lang other than eng are represented in unicode.

Have a look at string.split(). Try to split the whole string by whitespace (like ' '),
then analyse the first characters.

Hi Dude,
Use this type code...
DataSet ds = new DataSet();
DataTable myTable = new DataTable();
myTable.Columns.Add("id", Type.GetType("System.String"));
myTable.Columns.Add("username", Type.GetType("System.String"));
myTable.Columns.Add("firstname", Type.GetType("System.String"));
myTable.Columns.Add("lastname", Type.GetType("System.String"));
DataRow row;
row = myTable.NewRow();
row["id"] = "test1";
row["username"] = "TestName";
row["firstname"] = "TestFirstName";
row["lastname"] = "Testlastname";
myTable.Rows.Add(row);
ds.Tables.Add(myTable);
Ok..

I was using:
Wait.oThread.Abort();
to just close the thread, and it worked fine in debug
But when you run the app normally when it oThread.Abort()'s it says there was an unhandled exception and the thread was aborted.
I need somebody to tell me what to do.

Calling Thread.Abort will raise a ThreadAbortException (duh)
To properly abort a thread use a volatile bool bQuit and periodically check it in your thread for "true", then gracefully close this thread

Like Greg said, don't use Abort. It's a real terrible hack and can cause all sorts of problems including bringing down CLR hosts or the process itself. Really bad, don't use it.
Instead, use a custom cancellation flag and have the other thread occassionally poll for cancellation.

how can i access control (like button) in one form(form 1)
from another from(form 2)..
i want to set the enabled property of this control rom form 2
|
|

Set the "Modifiers" property of this control to public (or set the button access level to public by your self).
After that you will be able to see that control in the intelisense from another form.
Enjoy

thx
but still cant access enabled property

Errm
do:
public static System.Windows.Forms.Button YourButton;
then change all 'this.YourButton' to just 'YourButton' (without the 'this.')
Then you can just access the button from anywhere, works for me, well i've never done it for a button but, im sure it'll be fine.

If you have a webForm1 page with one button on it you could do this
webForm1 sf = new webForm1();
sf.Controls["button"].enabled=false;
sf.Show();
When the form opens the button would be disabled. Of course you need to know the controls name, or index.
I hope this was usefull

HI,
You can just create a function in the first form and declare it as public. In the body of this function you can right the property changes of the button that u wish. And just call this function from the second form.
This will do i think,

I am fairly new to C# and .NET, so please bear with me. I have an old DLL, written by a 3rd party, so not sure if its vb6 or C or what. I need the ability to do late binding on this dll, set up to 300 properties contained in the dll, and then call the methods it exposes. I have read a bit on reflection, but not sure if this works with setting properties of an object or not. Has anyone done this before that could breifly explain what I would need to do, or can anyone point me in the right direction to read up on this?
Thank You.

First, determine whether it's a COM dll. If it is, just go into your Visual Studio project, right-click on the References folder, and Add Reference to the the COM dll.
What's happening under the hood is that the tlbimp tool included in the .NET SDK is generating a .NET wrapper over your COM dll automagically.
Now, if it's not a COM dll, if it's just a standard C/C++ dynamic link library, you have 2 options. One is to use P/Invoke to call functions in the dll. If you want to do that, see this page[^].
And the last option is more work, but ultimately faster and cleaner than using P/Invoke: build a seperate C++/CLI (managed C++) dll that talks to the old C dll, and exposes its functionality through .NET functions. Your C# code can talk to the C++/CLI dll natively, as if it were written in C#. If you want to do that, look at this article[^].

I have added a reference to the dll, and that works fine. However, I need to do late binding on the dll. The possibility exists that when the application is installed, the dll may not be present. If I have a reference to the dll, and it is not there, will the application error out if I dont use the dll?
|
|
|
|
|
No, the application won't error out because what you're *really* done is create a new .NET wrapper dll around the COM dll. Your application will be distributed with the .NET wrapper dll, and your application will function fine. However, if you call into the .NET wrapper dll, which in turn tries to call into the COM dll, then that function call will fail with an exception.

Is it possible to open an external application (for example, Adobe) inside of a form in my application in C#? The reason is I would like to display a certain file type that is not supported by PictureBox. An example would be to open Minesweeper in my form, not externally as it normally opens. I hope I'm being clear on what I'm after. Imagine a PictureBox type of control that opens applications, that's what I want.
Thanks in advance to any help you can offer.
John
