Can someone help me with my project on developing a IT Helpdesk?
my project includes:
- web based helpdesk for the end users.
-we have more then 1000 end users in our company.
-the helpdesk should enable users to lodge in any query or complain about having problem with their harware, eg, if the printer is not working.
-if users can not login to the system
-forgot their password or wants their password to be resetted and so on.
-they should be able to add their name, Id number, department,email address,date and time. Also there should be a column for official use only in which the IT administrator will fill in their name, the solution of the problem and the date and time it was fixed
-their should be a submit button which sends the copy of the form to the IT administrator. Then the IT administrator will have to fill in the official column and the form will be saved i the system for future refernce.
i am trying to use C# for the first time for this project.
Can someone tell me how to start with this project since this is my first project after i have joined this It department this month.

Well I would begin by learning C#.
Start by resetting what you think your project is and start writing down guidelines and requirements, things like a 'column where the IT administrator can enter solutions!' is not beneficial to the project. Start laying out logic on paper before you move on to designing a database, forms, picking out a design pattern etc.
As for help from anyone here, you might want to get more involved with your own project and post specific problems about your project as you get to them.
PS if it's web based, try the ASP.NET forum.

What have you done to improve your position in the six days since you last asked this ? Have you bought a C# book ? I personally think you need to find another job, your boss is a moron, however, if you're stuck there, you can post this every week until you get fired, or you can roll up your sleeves and start working.

No, you are logged in as the same user, I was able to confirm that it was a repost by viewing your posts on your profile. That's how I worked out you posted this 6 days ago. You're either lying, or you really are not very good with computers at all, b/c you didn't create a new account, you logged in to your old one.

Well, at least you finally replied.

You are a retard. So is your boss. I am giving you the only possible help - what you're asking is idiotic. 'I don't know C#, but I'll ask in a forum and then know how to write a professional system'. If it worked that way, programming would be a minimum wage profession.
monishalata wrote: .by the way if people like u r in this forum its better that we don't post any questions..
What would be good is if people understood that programming is a four year course, you can't learn it from a forum reply, and even after four years, experience is needed. What would be good is if people who had no idea how to code, didn't try to learn all at once, but learned properly, or paid someone else to do it.
When people ask questions that are not idiotic, even if they are very simple, I take a lot of time to help. The morons, well, I help them too, it's just that you don't like it because the sort of help that is reasonable, is not what you want to hear.

Another way to make sure you never get this done, is to not reply to anyone who answers you. What were you hoping, that someone would do the work and post it for you ?

how does this sound, deposit your paid into my bank account or send me a cheque, and I will do it for you. hahaha. Seriously, dude, you can't scatter this sort of post in here, just try to learn the C# step by step first and if you encounter any bricks then ppl in here are willing to hlep you. But now you are asking ppl in here to build a system to you, you won't get anything except humiliated by ppl.

You can't be serious? You don't know C# at all and you're expected to bang out a complex site like this? Guy, you just asked "how do I build a house" and you've never even seen a hammer let alone nails and a 2x4.
You have absolutely no hope of completing this assignment within a year. Forget the C# language. If you can't work out how the database model is going to work, you can't write a single line of code that's going to mean anything.

Just posting the original message, in case anyone is curious. Sadly, the people who ask us to do all their work for them, first get angry ( check ), then lie ( check ), then delete all their posts. I do hope this guy either quits his job, or has the sense to take our advice, but either way, if he deletes it and people wonder what all the talk was about, here it is.

Well, you've got some of the specs there, but you haven't got a working design. Obviously, only an idiot would jump in and try and code this thing without doing any real analysis or up front design, so I'd expect you to pull together several use cases, acceptance criteria, functional and technical designs, long before you even think to open a code editor. You have done this haven't you?

I have an asp program I need to print a receipt out from a button. Does anyone know how to print a receipt client side. I can do a crystal report, gridview, etc. It's a hosted app so it needs to be client side.
Thanks.

ASP doesn't use .NET at all, if you mean ASP.NET, then you want the ASP.NET forum. If you mean ASP, you want the web dev forum.

Hi, I’m trying to get some objects to move around in a 2d array of lists, but the program keeps exiting with ‘System.InvalidOperationException’ and “Additional information: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.”
I’m pretty sure that this is the part of the code causing all the problems-
public void cycleThroughList()<br />
{<br />
for (int x = 0; x < GridDimention; x++)<br />
{<br />
for (int y = 0; y < GridDimention; y++)<br />
{<br />
foreach (Microbe i in theWorld[x, y])<br />
{<br />
i.Talk();<br />
Update_Position(i);<br />
<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
<br />
public void Update_Position (Microbe m)<br />
{<br />
if (m.sX != 0 & m.sY != 0)<br />
{ <br />
theWorld[m.positionX, m.positionY].Remove (m);<br />
theWorld[m.positionX + m.sX, m.positionY + m.sY].Add (m); <br />
}<br />
<br />
m.Talk();<br />
}
Where ‘Talk’ is a method that writes to the console the coordinates of the Microbe object, and the ‘int sX’ and ‘int sY’ are the modifications to the objects location on the array.
Do you guys have any idea how to fix this?
I really appreciate any advice you can give me!

The error means what it says. You cannot modify a collection while you're using it in a foreach, you need instead to write standard for loops.

I got an Image_click that makes an image become another image.
I want it to increment each time I click on it.
I got the increment right, the image changer right.
But the image_click just won't work twice.
Is there any function or method I can use?

What on earth do you mean ? what happens ? Perhaps you need to post code ?

Well... Code won't help.
The clicking procedure works fine.
And the declaration of the image is fine too...
Still wanna see?
private: System::Void TS11_MCli(System::Object^ sender, System::Windows::Forms::MouseEventArgs^ e) {
Tsn11 = Tsn11 + 1 ;
if (Tsn11 = 0) { this->TS11->Image = Image::FromFile("C:/GamePics/NOTILE.png");}
else {
if (Tsn11 = 1){ this->TS11->Image = Image::FromFile("C:/GamePics/GREEN.png");}
else {
if (Tsn11 = 2){ this->TS11->Image = Image::FromFile("C:/GamePics/GRTRE.png");}
else {
if (Tsn11 = 3){ this->TS11->Image = Image::FromFile("C:/GamePics/ROAD.png");}
else {
if (Tsn11 = 4){ this->TS11->Image = Image::FromFile("C:/GamePics/WALL.png");}
};
};
};
};
};
};
};
This was the clicking function.
When I click first time, the image switches to GREEN.png
When I click second time, the image stays as GREEN.png
