Thanks kstls,
But I have no dependencies for this because i am trying to delete some newly inserted userdetails data, which will create a new field in that single table only and not in any of the dependency tables.
Here by debugging the code i am getting the update command as :
"DELETE FROM UserDetails WHERE vUserName=@vUserName"
which when run directly in DBMS just replacing vUserName as 'testuser' which is the primarykey vUserName :
[ DELETE FROM UserDetails WHERE vUserName='testuser' ]
is deleting properly
But not working from code

Hello,
I am making one windows application in C#. I am using SQL Server as database. So, my question is I want to deploy the .exe file to the client with out installing sql server in clients system.
to do that what files I should supply to him with SetUp exe.?
If it is necessary to install SQL Server in client system how can i do? I want to install this exe in almost 100 systems.
As I am new to Windows Application, can anyone explain about it... or give some article links so I can understand the whole processfrom creating application to End User deployment.

You should not need to deploy any SQL engine or code to your client systems. You should have one SQL Server to which the clients connect. They just need to have the relevant connection string.
If you are deploying this as a separate database for each user I would suggest something lighter such as SQL Server Express Edition. This for the secondary reason that the Express Edition is free whereas installing a full SQL edition on 100 machines will cost you upwards of £400,000 (gbp) that is $700,000 (usd). That is the approx going rate for an academic licence installation of SQL 2008 * 100 which is the cheapest licence available.

If the computers all run their own local DB, then an Access DB may have been better from a deployment POV, or SQL Server Compact. As it stands, you may need to install SQL Server Express, configure a connection string and deploy your DB onto it.

hi
How to open external program from my C# program (Windows-mobile) ,
and give this external program the focus ?
thank's for any help

Not very helpful my friend.
This has been reposted a couple of times as no-one seems to know the answer. Google does throw up how to launch another application, but setting the focus is rather more difficult. I don't know how to do it on Windows Mobile, the api's are all different from Windows desktop or server, and I did a bit of checking around as well. Came up dry.
If you have some good search terms that find the answer to the activation problem maybe you could post them here. I am intrigued as to what you searched for if it is so easy to find.

Perhaps you should then try the mobile development forum, it seems to be more geared for your issue.

In normal windows applications this will work
System.Diagnostics.Process process = System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("ProcessName.exe");
Something like that but i am sure you that you need to use the System.Diagnostic Namespace.
Another solution could be to use System.Reflection but you need to do some more research on how to use that namespace but i am certain it's possible with System.Reflection.
Best of luck

Set the property for initial window state to something other than minimised.

its normal state only but only that single page is loading so.
|
|
|
|
|
The problem is that only on page load for the 1st time..the next time we open it it will open in normal mode.
|
|
|
|
|
If you have it set correctly, then you must have some code that's causing it to minimise.

il explain u the flow. After login we enter into a new registration form that form is minimised.but if we close that registration form n then open, it wil open in the normal state.
|
|
|
|
|
Well, then you need to take the code that shows the form, and explicitly mark it to not be minimised. I repeat, you either have a problem in your code, or you have a property set wrong.

The shortcut could have a setting as well.

Are you starting it from the start menu or double clicking a shortcut? It could be the case that the shortcut is instructed to start the application in minimized mode.

on button click of a page.the new registran for is opened.and also if we open the existing (completely filled form )form for editing then also its minimised but if we close that registrn form and then reopen it from a toolstrip it is in normal state.the thing is that 2nd the reopening is from toolstripmenu option.

System.Collections. But you'll get better results using a typed System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary.

Actually the Class Name is 'Hashtable'
