I'm sorry, but that comes off a little prickish to me...
Either way, in response to the other post about why I care so much, it is because this was brought to the lounge in attempts to have users down-vote / report as abuse his posts, half of which contained hints to what you where looking for.

Prickish maybe but definitely not sarcastic and not nearly as prickish as the post it was directed at.Said post offered exactly NO information with regards to what I was trying to find out.
If you read the Lounge thread you'd notice that that was not my initial intention. I was trying to find out if there was a private method with which to alert a moderator. Then when it became clear that this was not possible it dawned on me that I could teach the unhelpful "prick", I think is the word you would, use a lesson by the only means left to me.
As for the "hints" you speak of, well, they were provided with no contextual information in terms of what they were and in any event, the information I gleaned from some far more helpful individuals at another site would indicate that the hints would have sent me on a wild goose chase.
I've got my answer to the problem, and the answer is yes. Direct3D 10 is exposed on COM. But no thanks to Led Mike.

Erroneous, he posted a link here about 10 posts down[^] which seems to have answered your question in full.
Klempie wrote: If you read the Lounge thread you'd notice that that was not my initial intention
It took 7 posts before you asked people to do that, and 50% of the posts out of those 7 where yours. Then you proceed to call him an "idiot" throughout the duration of the entire thread. You can't have it bother ways, you want to sit a bicker and have moderators look at the content in question about insults when you're insulting him in a separate thread in a much more public spread.
He had the decency to stop replying hours ago, you carried it over to a new board, attempted to have a community (which he served tirelessly whilst earning MVP honors) turn and downgrade his posts for no reason other then you weren't satisfied. He gave you your answers even while you insulted him. You should sit and apologize, not attempt to defend your lack of class and your rudeness.

Whatever you say Eliott the fact remains that most people here are agreeing with me that he was out of line.
Anyway, you have a good night now.

You have one guy supporting you who asks questions to develop a php site for viruses... yeah... real support you have there.
Fact remains you received your answer from him and don't acknowledge it, he gave you multiple hints before giving you the final answer and you don't acknowledge it and, as stated above, you attempted to have people come here just to down-vote him while insult him consistently, if anyone's disgraced here sir, it is you.

While I don't fully agree with posting about his posting about this in the Lounge, I would say I was on his side. So that would be at least two supporters you can mark on your chart.
And I must say your taking this very seriously, defending Led Mike all the way.

Erroneous because led mike was the one who exposed it to COM? or because no one else had that information, except him?
|
|
|
|
|
Erroneous because he gave him directions to the documentation three times before posting the actual direct URL. In my opinion, nothing is wrong with giving a direction instead of the direct result, working a bit and navigating shouldn't be such a big issue. And as for your other post 'are you kidding me', no I'm not.
Go back to making tutorial sites for viruses.

This is the wrong place for this argument, but you don't have posting enabled on your user page or an email link. However, I do. If you want to call me names, do it there.
Also, get off my lawn!

I think it was totally appropriate, given ledmike's childish language in the first response

What's your beef with this guy? He wasn't rude, he didn't ask you to do his homework, and he didn't offend anyone.

Doesn't seem like you understand the nature of WMI, Windows Management Instrumentation. It is a part of COM/DCOM components.

#include "stdafx.h"
class A
{
};
class B
{
};
int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[])
{
A* pA = NULL;
B* pB = dynamic_cast<B*>(pA);//error C2683: 'dynamic_cast' : 'A' is not a polymorphic type. This is no doubt.
return 0;
}
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
But if A inherits from IUnknow, the dynamic_cast compile successfully, why?
#include "stdafx.h"
#include <ObjBase.h>
class A : IUnknown
{
};
class B
{
};
int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[])
{
A* pA = NULL;
B* pB = dynamic_cast<B*>(pA);//Why compile successfully here?
return 0;
}

"The dynamic_cast operator cannot be used to convert from a non-polymorphic class, that is, a class that does not define any virtual functions." (c) MSDN
So IUnknown is an interface with 3 virtual functions QueryInterface, AddRef and Release.
You can obtain such effect with
class A<br />
{<br />
virtual ~A() {}<br />
};
With best wishes,
Vita
