Hi all,
I am trying to paste some text from another file ,but only half of the text is comming.
I am not able to display whole text message.
How can i increase the buffer size.

Hi, I want to find my pc's current os version.
I am using ::GetVersionEx(OSVERSIONINFO &osver) API to know.
But the problem is Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 have same version number i.e., 6.1
How can i find what is the exact version (Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2)?

Use OSVERSIONINFOEX, and check in MSDN

Windows 7 6.1 6 1 OSVERSIONINFOEX.wProductType == VER_NT_WORKSTATION
Windows Server 2008 R2 6.1 6 1 OSVERSIONINFOEX.wProductType != VER_NT_WORKSTATION
Version of both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 is same but wProductType is different.

So, you just need to check for the wProductType member of the OSVERSIONINFOEX structure that you're passing in to the API.

Hello people!
Does any of you know a way to programmatically map a network drive through a non-standard port? I mean, like WNetAddConnection[^], but this doesn't seem to accept any port specifications, like, if i specify "\\192.168.1.2:1234\whatevershare", it will tell me something like "invalid network path" or somesuch. I read in some SMB specs that SMB clients should be able to handle non-standard ports, but i see no way to do this with windows. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

i wrote a project using wxwidget in linux and windows. In windows I used the cygwin gnu makefile using the visual studio command line compiler (cl.exe). Sometimes a library of my project is generated truncated, without error by compiler, and obviously when I try to use it the loader gives error.
When I say "cut off" I mean, if I recompile the library, the new file is made larger. I compile with multiple processors with the option of make-j2, may be the cause?
Is there a way to verify the correctness of a library? or to find the correct end of a library?

Can you try compiling it on a different machine? If you don't change the library, and you get different sizes from different compiles, then you should also look at the Windows event log for hard disk errors, or possibly even a virus.

There is in the pc an updated antivirus, and there is no problem in the pc.
Now I want to find a check for the dll, and later i look for the cause, perhaps the compilation with two processors...
