Im using the code .....
CEdit* pMyEditCtrl = (CEdit*)GetDlgItem(IDC_MyEditCtrl);
pMyEditCtrl->SendMessage(WM_VSCROLL,MAKEWPARAM(SB_BOTTOM,0));
This seems to work, but I need to send the WM_VSCROLL message after each time I set the Edit control text with SetDlgItemText( ). I thought I would be able to set this bottom scroll property once and it would remain static.
Any thoughts??

Not quite. The code fragment doesn't set a property - it sends a message (i.e. instructs the edit control to scroll to the bottom).

Use a CEdit member variable instead. Global variables are rarely, if ever, needed.

I put a picture control (type:rect) in a dialog, and associated it with a CStatic object. I find it doesn't refresh itselt when a window uncovered it.

What I drew on the static's client is not refreshed, the client became what it was originally.

hey,
I am working on a drawing application...my drawing area has a height of 400 pixels, x-axis is 600 pixels(scaled: 1 sec=2pixels)...
I am having problem, scaling the y-axis to plot larger values e.g. 2000..
must use default maaping mode(pixels)
how to do it...( need a tested equation...)

I already sent related query but here a bit explanation.
I have to load a bitmap in picturebox
and let say my bitmap is in
"C:\\my pictures\\bmp1.bmp"
now i want that when i execute my prgram then there is button say "PRESS ME" on main dialog and when i press the button then the above BMP display on the dialog which have already a picture box for loading a bitmap,remember i dont want to load directly on dialog,but i want to load bitmap in picturebox.
Plz help me through MFC code b/c I am suffereing alot from this.

Is there a function to enable the LAN and other WLAN adapters automatically rather than opening the network and dial-up connection and enabling them by right cliking and enabling.If no such direct function call is there do anyone have any idea to enable it programatically.

Greetings!
I am writing an SDI application where I am dividing the pane into two, using CSplitterWnd. I am also opening up child windows in one of the panes. 
My problem is - when the child windows get displayed in the splitter window pane, they appear as if they are inactive windows - even if I click on the window, the window's title bar doesnt gets painted as if it were active. This is causing a lot of problems; especially when multiple child windows are opened.
Can anyone help me out on this. I want the window to appear focussed when it gets the focus.

In MFC, I could save the toolbar's state to registry by calling function CToolBarCtrl::SaveState, but how to save the toolbar's state to an ini file? Sometimes,I don't want to use registry , Could you give me some idea? Thanks very much!

You can get the state of each button and save in a vector or list or array and serialize it. For Example,
Use GetButtonCount(), to get the total number of buttons on the toolbar and then use GetState() for getting the state of each button and store in a vector and serialize it.

What? Use this instead:
m_spin1.SetRange32(0, INT_MAX); If you absolutely need more than that, you'll have to scale the range and position down. The most common is based on a 100% scale.
