Thanks for the response David but,
Can I just assume that the 'lower 16 bits' will contain the correct number ?????

please give me some project in vc++(MFC)
so that i can make this and increase my knowledge
thanks alot

u mean u want some task or some application such that u can develop it for practice.
if so then i have so many of my dream projects which i'm unable to do due to lack of time and which i need for my day to day use.
|
|
|
|
|
thanks \
ok , u can send
but task is in such a way that i can include this project in my resume
thanks

What ?? Are you kidding ?
So you want to pretend to have programming skills but in fact you are just too lazy to learn. And what, afterward when you have found a job (by cheating them), you'll come here again and asking us to do the job for you ?
|
|
|
|
|
i want to increase my skills and this is site for help i think so.
so dont be so panic ,everbody fight in this world
and if u want to help one go for it or not
but please dont discourage him
|
|
|
|
|
if p_ wants us to send the projects with source code, then he is wrong.
as Cédric Moonen said, he (p_) would be cheating the company, to whom he is forwarding his resume.
but if he only wants some idea of the task or assignment, such that, he himself can implement it, then thats nothing wrong.
iam looking for the opinions.

|
|
|
|
I assume that he wanted to say the he wants to mention his skills in his resume, and along with it, wants to mention that he worked on those projects as part of his hobby to increase his skills. If this is the case, then I don't think its bad.
Regards,
Vijay.

Two things to consider
1 - why would we want to help you, when we may well be the more deserving person you want to do out of a job ?
2 - Do you really think if you lie your way into a job, you will be able to keep it ?

I suspect we're dealing with an issue of communication.
You said you wanted a project to add to your resume. A resume is a document that lists your achievements to a potential employer.

i dont want the project to paste on resume
i want to attach my new skills which i gain after completing the task or project given by some one
and chandu004 want to help but now i think he is also confused
|
|
|
|
|
why don't you just download some projects over here (and there are plenty for beginners) and learn by there, and look at the code to see how things work ?
|
|
|
|
|
no boss, no confusion at all.
take down.
1.you can develop a database software for a school.
how ever, many softwares are available on the web. but your own product will be of much love to you.
2.once upon a time(3.5 years ago), i made a general purpose software called FILE STATION. but now i lost its backup. i will spell out its features, and you can develop it and forward it to me.
the basic features are as below. if you are interested i shall explain in detail.
;P2.1.file generation based on the given criteria(incremental, decremental, random, constant) or based on structure.
;P2.2.file comparison.
;P2.3.file splitting and merging.
;P2.4.file transmission through serial port and through ethernet. this feature will be more useful in research industries.
and i want many more features, which i shall guide you later.
3.if you know the basics of HTML, then also i have an interesting task for you in vc++.
4.if you know active X controls then also i have many more assignments.
now choice is yours

Where do you want to work? what do you want to do? Do you want business programming? learn to write a client application that reads/writes to a database server on another machine with a complex user interface (multiple windows).
Do you want to be in media services? write a client/server application that streams video/audio from one machine to another with a very attractive, yet skinable user interface.
Do you want to be in 3D graphics? write a 3D landscap tool that integrates complex 2D animations into a 3D world along with real-time object positions.
etc.
Start with what you WANT to be doing, then find a project to learn in that area.

Here you go. YOu can now put on your resume that you know how to write "hello world" in many languages including VC++. Don't forget to emphasize LOLCODE, very handy for quick reports for your boss.
// language C
#include < stdio.h >
int main()
{
printf("Hello world!\n");
}
// Hello World in C++ (pre-ISO)
#include < iostream.h >
main()
{
cout << "Hello World!" << endl;
return 0;
}
// Hello World in C++/CLI for .NET
using namespace System;
void main()
{
Console::WriteLine("Hello World");
}
// Hello World in ISO C++
#include < iostream >
#include < ostream >

{
std::cout << "Hello World!" << std::endl;

Sure, for $80 USD an hour and disclosing full credits (you'll have to put a link to my website on your resume) to me while I retain full ownership (I'll have to charge you a monthly, recurring fee for the privilege of listing said project on your resume), I'd be to do anything you like. Please contact me at Mad1337HaXoR@aol.com for more information.

im new to ActiveX controls. In fact, I just wrote my first ActiveX control
using the MFC ActiveX control wizard. It works fine, but when I embed it in
a web page, IE gives me a security dialog saying
This page provides potentially unsafe information to an ActiveX control.
Your current security settings prohibit running controls in this manner. As
a result, this page may not display correctly.
Changing IE's security level worked, but there must be a better way. How
can I make my ActiveX control more trustworthy? As far as I know, I could
sign it, but certificates aren't free. What are my choices? What are the
tools?

You should mark your ActiveX component as safe for initialisation and scripting. Since ActiveX can do anything thus , microsoft has made it necessary the safe initialisation of ocx controls. So, make some code level changes in update Registry to doo this.

You can't since the worker thread is unable to respond to the WM_SETCURSOR message. Do that in the primary thread instead.

I'm getting my first taste of the nasty world of NT security issues, so please bare with me if this comes across as one of those newbie questions.
It is important that my program is allowed access to every file/folder on a volume. I realise to do this I must add an ACL into the file/folders' DACL. I am able to do this without any problems. But here is the problem, so far I have been adding the looged on users SID to the ACL, storing the old DACL and replacing it on program termination. But, it has come to my attention that this is opening a serious hole in NT's security.
If my program does not perform a clean exit, those DACLs will never be replaced, leaving the file/folders' wide open.
Is there any other way to do this? Is it possible to add an ACL for my current process and not need to re-adjust the objects security once finished? ie, once the process no longer exists, theoretically the SID would become invalid, would windows perform an auto cleanup?
All the examples I have found relate to taking ownership and completely re-writing the security, rather than updating it. Also I have found nothing regarding 'SID of current process'.
