hi,
this are all described only for the Local Computers Drives but what abt the Remoter Computers appended to the Tree Control and there Disks and Drives i am confused that how to append the remoter computers.
because when you open the Window Explorer apart from the Local Computer there is a hook for Remoter Computer where all the Remote Computer and there Drives are Mentioned which is the Required Form i want.
pls let me know.

Ok, i think your problem is different.
I thought all you wanted is to combine a tree and list together into one control.
Now i see you don't know how to read Remote computers, and to place them in the tree same as in disk drivers....
well for that there are good examples here is code project, all you have to do is search.
try to search for how to retrieve directories
hope this helps

Hi,
When you delete last item or when app starts and there isn't any item yet, you can disable combobox ... GetDlgItem( IDC_COMBOBOX1 )->EnableWindow( FALSE ).
And when you add item you can enable it: GetDlgItem( IDC_COMBOBOX1 )->EnableWindow( TRUE );

Hi,
You are correct that if combobox doesn't contain any item i make it disable and enable it only if it contain item. But is their any other way to simply stop combobox from showing empty dropdown list if it not contain item.
Thanks:-

Hi,
I try like this one but it didn't work. When I read MSDN help about it, it says that This member function has no effect on a combo box created with the CBS_SIMPLE style. And I thing that the combobox created using toolbox has CBS_SIMPLE style. So what to do?

Why would you want/need one? Mila025 has provided you with a very clean, simple solution. There's no need to bother with any of the dropdown-related stuff.

Try CB_SHOWDROPDOWN.

There should be a simple way out , but I couldnt think about it now.
The below may sound silly , but it still works. You can create an EDIT box and make the size same as the Combo. and you can play this trick
<code>
CComboBox* cmb = (CComboBox*)this->GetDlgItem(IDC_COMBO1);
CEdit* ce =(CEdit*)this->GetDlgItem(IDC_EDIT1);
void CTESTDlg::OnSetfocusEdit1()
{
if(cmb->GetCount()>0)
{
cmb->ShowWindow(SW_NORMAL);
ce->ShowWindow(SW_HIDE);
}
}
void CTESTDlg::OnSetfocusCombo1()
{
if((cmb->GetCount()==0))
{
cmb->ShowWindow(SW_HIDE);
ce->ShowWindow(SW_NORMAL);
}
}
</code>
You like it ?
<marquee scrollamount="1" scrolldelay="1" direction="up" height="10" step="1">--[V]--

Hi,
I don't like this. Can you stop combobox from showing empty list when it doesn't have any item.

I forgot to tell you one thing, you need to keep the Combo right on top of the EditBox., but still on the click of the "drop" button which is there on the Combo, the dowpdown is getting displayed anyway , I'll give it a try when I have time for R&D
<marquee scrollamount="1" scrolldelay="1" direction="up" height="10" step="1">--[V]--

Is it possible to create a static library in .NET 2003, that doesn't use managed code, and link it into a Visual C++ v6 project? If so, how? I've made a simple attempt, but I get linker errors in VC6 like...
unresolved external symbol __RTC_Shutdown
unresolved external symbol __RTC_InitBase
Building Release works but Debug does not.
Thanks.

I want a list ctrl with some columns are fixed ie, these column must not posses the HScroll property but they must have VScroll property. and a full row selection.
Consider the following is the column header
col1 col2 column1 column2 ......
The first two columns are fixed (both header and values). (A HScroll is placed commonly for both the columns col1,col2 and column1,column2... but it works only for column1,column2..... . The VScroll would work as usual.
Also i want to add more than two picture in a cell of list ctrl based on some condition. and also I have to use vertical text as column header for some columns and for some columns i need multiple headers
Can U please help me for finding a solution
If question is not clear then mail me to

Hello Friends,
For a application i need to get the whois information of the domain.
Whois information is the total information of a domain. Does any one know how to get it programatically?
Thanks in Advance.

Hi All,
I have lots of questions regarding VC++. Hope I get answers! Ok, Here goes...
1) Difference between CreateInstance, CoCreateInstance and CrateObject.<br />
<br />
2) When is the type library (.tlb) created? Is it created for COM components? I created a Simple COM dll but no type library was created. How do I create it? Is a type library really needed?<br />
<br />
3) Can functions in a COM dll be accessed using its .lib file or by using loadlibrary()? If it can be, then does the COM dll have to be registed in the registry for an application to use its functions?<br />
<br />
4) Difference between Static library and Dynamic Library?<br />
<br />
5) Difference between Win32 Static Library, Win32 Dynamic Link Library, MFC dll and ATL/COM dll in VC++? <br />
<br />
6) How many types of dlls are there? Like, COM dll is a type.<br />
<br />
7) What does "Allow Merging of proxy stub code" do in the ATL COM Wizard? does it change the COM component if it is selected or not selected.<br />
<br />
8) What is MTS in "Support MTS" in the same page as (7)?<br />
<br />
9) Just like we can use MFC as a Statically linked library or a shared library, is there any way that I can use a custom dll in the same ways?
I know that some of my questions are stupid and immature, but I have started to use VC++ only 2 months back and there are a hell lot of questions still lingering in my mind ....
Hope I get answers...
Thanks you all, for helping me out.

I have tried to answer some of your questions; I have forgotten the answers to the other ones and would have to look them up. All the information is buried in the MSDN and is also available on the Web.
4) A Static Library (.lib) is linked to your program and a Dynamically Linked Library is not. A Dynamic Library is loaded into memory when a program requires access to it; it is unloaded from memory when there are no applications open that require its services.
5) The first two items are the same as question 4. The next two items are just different Dynamically Linked Libraries that provide different services.
8) From MSDN: “MTS is a new kind of middleware, software that makes it easier to build and scale distributed applications running on servers.”
9) Yes.
