If you encrpyt the data in the databasem, you introduce two problems.
The first is performance. Encrypting and Decrpyting the data takes a LOT of time and makes using the standard Data classes a nightmare to use. Your Data layer is going to be under tremendous stress doing all that math. This makes you solution not very scalable without massive CPU horsepower.
The second is searchability. Storing the data encrypted in the database essentially destroys your ability to use an WHERE clauses, except when specifying match values for P/F key and unencrypted fields.
A better suggestion is to learn Windows Server and SQL Server security and apply it appropriately.

A service pack is applied to a program that's been installed, so I'd say the answer is no.

You must have SQL Server 2005. The solution is to upgrade your OS.

Assuming this is the Enterprise Edition of SQL Server 2005, it will install on these versions[^] of Windows Server.
If your Windows 2000 Server doesn't have AT LEAST Service Pack 4 installed, SQL Server will not install. I would have though that making sure your server meets the minumum system requirements would be step 1 in the decision to buy SQL Server 2005 Enterprise. After all, that's a lot of money you just shelled out for it. ... or did you?

Sir,
Please send me the basic steps to make an apllication that is able to speek my own language(Pashto)(spoken in NWFP-Pakistan).

It's not really a basic task. It's quite a complex one. You need to either record all your possible word sounds and write code to push them together, or record every word you would ever hope to speak.

Sir,
You mean that in English Text-2-Speech application they recorded each and every word what somebody write to speek in it.For Example
Microsost Talk It
If I write my name or other thing that is of my own language. It will speek. But i think microsoft don't know about that thing. So i need an application just like that which support unicode character to speek in a way,I specify.
So my dear Sir,
Can you help me in it.
ThanX for considration.

HI,
Is there any tool to convert C# code or VC++ code to VB6.0? Please let me know.
Thanks in Advance,

VB6 is a dead language, which is to say it's totally unsupported. It's also inferior to C# and C++, it simply cannot do the things those languages can. Therefore. a converter is both technically impossible for all code, and there is really no motivation for anyone to write one.

Hi Christian Graus,
Thanks for the reply.
Actually I am C# resource and I am been asked to build an application in VB6.0, which is already developed in C#. This is client specific requirement and I am facing many problems in developing the appication in VB6. The problems like
1. Marshal.PtrToStringAnsi equivalent function in VB6. I have used CopyMemory and CopyMemoryAnsi from Kernel32.dll, but I am getting "over flow" error.
So I wanted to know if any tool is there to convert C# code to VB6.0.
Anyway, thanks again for the reply.

Let me get this straight. They want to you rewrite an application is VB6 that you have already written in C#, correct?
OK. Let's look at the costs involved. 10 minutes to install the .NET Framework per machine that is going to run your app, or, 3 months to rewrite the code in a dead language with no support. How much do you get paid by the hour? How many machines is this going to be running on?? Hmmm....

There's something we've not seen before.
The two ways to draw are to call CreateGraphics to get a graphics object to draw something temporary, or handle the Paint event to draw something that will stay on the screen permanently. The definition of temporary is that it will disappear when you call Invalidate(), or when something causes your window to redraw itself (like it gets covered and then shown again )

If you couldn't figure out your scenario yourself from a list of choices, how else do you expect anyone else to do it from you?
Add to this, a woefully inadequate question , which does not tell us how you're updating using the adapter. Do you use the Select command or a separate update command. Is it inline SQL or a SP? Do your modifications break any referential integrity? Do you see any inner exception?
Please look at it from a third person's perspective. Atleast give us enough information to understand and respond to your question.

Help me to add DataGridView DateTime Picker Column using VB.net 2005
Kalika

hi kalika,
Perhaps you dont add DatetimePicker Column to Datagrid.however you can take a DateTimePicker control & whenever column(related to date) got focus, then u can set DateTimePicker control location to this cell and on lost focus event pick the value of DateTimePicker & assign it to cell.
Hope this helps

Basically, you'd be creating your own Column class for the DataGridView. This is NOT for the faint of heart and it would take an entire article to explain it all. But, you need to create 3 classes.
The first, is the Column class for the DataGridView, which will inherit from DataGridViewColumn.
Public Class MyDatePickerColumn
Inherits DataGridViewColumn
The second is a class that will show the cell contents in the datagridview. You really don't want to show an entire calendar month graphic in there, it simply takes up too much screen realestate to show a date. So, you create a class that your column will use to show the data in a presentable form. This class will use the DataGridViewTextBoxCell as a base to build on.
Public Class MyDateCell
Inherits DataGridViewTextBoxCell
The final class is the hard one, the edit control. This one has to handle putting up the datetime picker control and letting the user pick a date. Since this class is expected to supply certain methods that your column control will call, it has to implement a specific interface, call IDataGridViewEditingControl. Since your just going to show a datetime picker control, it's be a good place to start with the class.
Public Class MyDateColumnEditControl
Inherits DateTimePicker
Implements IDataGridViewEditingControl
Want an example? Here it is[^].

What do you need explained? Your post is vague and the 5 things you want explained, whole books have been written on them. Please elaborate what you need to know about them...
