You'll find the code when YOU write it. isn't that the whole point behind the course? YOU write the code and learn by doing so? What skills are you going to show off by using someone elses code? "This is how I have people write my code for me!"

You've already passed you're last hope of someone writing it for you. We're you're last hope when you get stuck writing your own code.

vb.net 2005 + Access database.
I have created dataset with wizard.
In one situation i want to use the RowUpdated event of Dataadapter.But how to get the dataadapter because it's only tableadapter and there's no Rowupdated event for tableadapters.

|
|
|
Mmmm ...
Are you wanting to intercept the saving of data to the database
or just looking to get the table's rowchanged event?

Hello !
this.cmbCurencyType.DataSource = ds.Tables["ss"];<br />
this.cmbCurencyType.DisplayMember = "CurrCode";<br />
this.cmbCurencyType.SelectedItem = "CurrName";
so i have 2 columns in the DataSet in the comboBox the value of the column CurrCode is displayed.
I put a label beside where i need to display the value in the CurrName Column according to the one selected in the ComboBox.
can someone help me
Thanks in advance
Assaf

The SelectedItem property takes the item to show, not the name of a data source. You want to set the DataMember ( from memory ) to CurrName, then handle the selected index changed event and set your label text there.

Yep, that's how I understood the question.

You got one right, DisplayMember. I think the other property you need is ValueMember, not DataMember.

hello,
Is there a way to freeze the system time, so it shows like "10:30" all the time or "23/8/07" ?
thanks.

you could write code that sets it over and over to the same time, otherwise, no.

Hi,
if you mean you don't want it to alternate between date and time, it helps to give
it sufficient space to show both. My task bar is vertical at the left, and it
shows three lines: time, name of day, date.
if you mean stop the system clock, then a) you can't (and that's very good)
and b) you would better not show it at all (uncheck Taskbar/Properties/Show Clock).
Finally you can create your own clock; there are CP articles on that.

- make Visual display line numbers: Tools/Options/TextEditor/...
- show exceptions with ToString() to see all information

I meant stopping, and I thought that's not possible, but I've saw a project on RAC about programming such an app, and there were some bids on it. so I got a little confused
tnx

OK, then you need GetSystemTime() and SetSystemTime() in kernel32.dll
plus a bit of PInvoke.

RAC has always been populated by retards. I would expect to see just such a project listed there, and plenty of people will bid on it, then ask here how to do it. They will end up with an app that does what I said ( set a timer, and every time it fires, set the clock to the same time )

You can only workaround by freezing your system clock but you can not dictate on the Nature. Nature has its own eternal clock which keeps ticking.
BTW, why do you want to go for this approach?

Hi.
I am trying to use a select case statement for reading the value in a tag in a control. I use these alot in VBA and either I am not seeing something or the syntax has comlpetely changed
The code I am using is
<br />
For Each ctr In Me.Controls<br />
Select Case ctr.Tag<br />
Case Is "1", "14", "27", "40"<br />
'Method goes here<br />
End Select<br />
Next
This code causes a squigly to appear under the "1".
If I change it to Case "1", .... (as it suggests in the MSDN) they all get squiglies.
What am I missing?

Its OK I've fixed it. I converted the tag to a string after reading the MSDN and not skimming it. I just thought that the tag of an object would be the same as a string.

hello
i have this regex which searches for a text string character, but i want it to also include text that's inside a HTML tag. for example <b>Alex</b>
String pat = "\\b("+keyword+"'?s?)\\b|(^"+keyword+"'?s?)\\b|\\b("+keyword+"'?s?$)";
so i added this:
(\\>\\/\\<\\]\\>) to give:
String pat = "\\b(\\/\\<\\>)("+keyword+"'?s?)\\b|(\\>\\/\\<\\]\\>)(^"+keyword+"'?s?)\\b|\\b(\\>\\/\\<\\]\\>)("+keyword+"'?s?$)";
what's wrong here? HELP PLEASE. thanks!

I recommend downloading Expresso, a free tool which lets you build and test regular expressions.

I want to create a vertical navigation menu on the left/right side of the screen, but the VB.NET in VS2005 doesn't have this type of component. Is it still possible to create one? If yes, please tell me how.
Your Helps are deeply appreciated. Thank You.
