You would think so. I've got 27 years to my credit

Well, look at the latest post from him about COFF. I do have a solution to the problem, but I'll just withhold it due the lashing out I got from him.

Thanks, Jeff. Seems some people have issues, don't let it bother you.

Transparency doesn't work the way to think it does. What you've seen is the correct functionality. Controls are not transparent to other controls. Setting a control's background to Color.Transparent makes the control take on the background properties of it's parent container, most likely the Form it's on. You cannot see a control behind another control. Transparent is anything but...

Hi,
The scrollbars maximum position value changes with the amount of text in the control. Therefore if we could get the value of that we could adjust our height accordingly. So here is a little function that I did up. I haven't tested it extensively yet but as far as I can tell it works just fine for me. It uses the API function GetScrollRange and constant SB_VERT. These should be available in the API Viewer but if not they are in the winuser.h file. Also the scrollbars property may have to be set vertical. Please refer to the below mentioned code:
<br />
Public Sub AdjustHeight(ByVal rtfRichEdit As RichTextLib.RichTextBox, ByVal lpMinHeight As Long)<br />
Dim lpMax As Long ' Max scroll position<br />
Dim lpMin As Long ' Min scroll position<br />
<br />
' get the scroll range<br />
GetScrollRange rtfRichEdit.hwnd, SB_VERT, lpMin, lpMax<br />
<br />
' It may not be necessary to subtract the lpMin value from lpMax because I can't think of anytime that lpMin would be anything but 0... but just in case....<br />
If ((lpMax - lpMin) * Screen.TwipsPerPixelY < lpMinHeight) Then<br />
' This allows you to set a minimum height for your control<br />
rtfRichEdit.Height = lpMinHeight<br />
Else<br />
' Else the control height should be equal to the text height - the max scroll value.<br />
rtfRichEdit.Height = (lpMax - lpMin) * Screen.TwipsPerPixelY<br />
End If<br />
End Sub<br />
I hope this would be helpful.

Hi all,
I am developing a client application to communicate with the web service in server. I am not allowed to communicate to the web service directly. There is a gateway to do that. MY job is to communicate the gateway and send a xml data. I know the Port number for that gateway.
But my doubt is how to connect the Gateway using TCP and post the xmldata and get the respose from Gateway.
There is no Documentation for that Gateway
Please any one suggest me how to do this communication(client application to gateway using TCP) commonly.
A little urgent please
Thanks in advance

If you had botherd to do a google search "c# to vb.net" the first link would have given you this:
http://labs.developerfusion.co.uk/convert/csharp-to-vb.aspx[^]
wich would give you:
Public Partial Class frmMain
Inherits Form
Public Sub New()
InitializeComponent()
' Stand2plates.Add(3);
allStands = New List() {Stand1plates, Stand2plates, Stand3plates}
End Sub
Private allStands As List()
Private Stand1plates As New List()
Private Stand2plates As New List()
Private Stand3plates As New List()
End Class

Thanks you for your help.

Hi
I want a code for match the string with the souce string and then undo the matched string from the source string in the textbox.
like if source string is HiHello
and match string is hello
then undo that hello string from the original string or source string
|
|
|
|
|
I guess you want the string.Replace method for the second part and the contains ( from memory ) method for the first.

hi,
it is my first time using listview, i can add the item,
but, the problem now, how can i make the listview only focus or show the latest item or row that have been added? and, if i have textbox, i can use text_Changed event to alert something, but how can i do this for listview?
plz..
|
|
|
|
|
mm - there doesn't seem to be an event. I'd say grab an event you know would get fired when an item is added ( like the item draw event ) and keep track of the number of items, and fire your own event if that changes.

Deselect all items...
For Each x As ListViewItem In ListView1.Items
x.Selected = False
Next
Add a new item...
Dim lvi As New ListViewItem
lvi.Selected = True
lvi.Text = "test"
ListView1.Items.Add(lvi)
Set the focus to show the selection...
ListView1.Focus()
|
|
|
|
|
Make the selected item visible
lvi.EnsureVisible

Would you like a large pizza and a 2 liter of coke with that?
There are several tutorials on this site that work just fine. I suggest you slow down and more carefully analyze the code.
Any suggestions, ideas, or 'constructive criticism' are always welcome.
