Here's the answer in C#:
CultureInfo ci = CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture("hi-IN");
string converted = 1234567m.ToString("N", ci);
Or in VB.NET:
Dim ci As CultureInfo = CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture("hi-IN")
Dim converted As String = 1234567D.ToString("N", ci)

hi..
I am a beginner in Vb.net. need help. i m doing 1 project in which i have to retrieve field from table 1 to Combo Box & save it to table 2.
can anybody give me example.
|
|
|
|

Are your tables you refer to in a dataset?
If so then you can bind the datasource/member properties of the combo box to the table 1.
Then just use an insert/update to table 2 based on the selecteditem in the combobox.

Dim TCP As Net.Sockets.TcpClient
Dim POP3Stream As System.IO.Stream
Dim inStream As System.IO.StreamReader
TCP = New Net.Sockets.TcpClient
TCP.Connect(strServer, 110)
POP3Stream = TCP.GetStream
inStream = New System.IO.StreamReader(POP3Stream, System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding("utf-8"))
strTemp = inStream.ReadLine
While (strTemp <> ".")
strEmailMess = strEmailMess & strTemp & vbCrLf
strTemp = inStream.ReadLine
End While
For example: if strTemp is =?windows-874?B?t7TKzbogdGVzdCB=?=
i have to cut ?windows-874?B? and ?= so, it will remains t7TKzbogdGVzdCB=
and i will use code below to encode it to Thai letter
Dim encoding As New System.Text.UTF8Encoding
Dim Buffer As Byte() = Convert.FromBase64String(t7TKzbogdGVzdCB=)
DecodeBase64 = encoding.GetString(Buffer)
it's read ?????????
How to make it read in Thai letter ?
Thanks

Your question is not very good.
You cut the items from where? what are you expecting it to decode to? what does the original data refer to?
You lost me with your question...

Hello experts.
I am stuck on something.
I have an external file whihc i am read/writting to it, that bit i can do however, what i really need to be able to do is split the document up.
At the moment i have one big text box with lots of data in it, what i need to do is split that data up and put the data into seperate textboxes,
i thought i could do this with a FOR and NEXT loop however that doesn't seem to work
Here's my code
Dim i(1 To 10) As Integer
'reading a file
' Get a free file number
nFileNum = FreeFile
' Open a text file for input. inputbox returns the path to read the file
Open App.Path & "\stock.txt" For Input As nFileNum
lLineCount = 1
For i = 1 To 10 ' this loop doesn't seem to work!
' Read the contents of the file
Do While Not EOF(nFileNum) 'this works fine
Line Input #nFileNum, sNextline
'do something with it
'add line numbers to it, in this case!
sNextline = sNextline & vbCrLf
sText(i) = sText(i) & sNextline & vbNewLine 'take out sNumbers if dont work
'Next sNumber
next i
Loop
txtRead.Text = sText(1)
txtRead1.Text = sText(2)
if anybody can help me that would be very helpful
Thanks
Dan

You're reading the file 10 times, right to the end of the text. Wouldn't it make more sense to move the loop to the end of the method, and to process it after you read all the text?
I'd be guessing that you'd only need to read the file once.

You have your For Next and your Do Loop structures overlapped, doesn't look right to me.

Before you perform to split a string you must have to provide the deliminator...It's a basic part of split a string..Your code is not similar to your need I guess.
Well I would like you suggest you to use Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word 11.0 to Handle not only a rtf file but also
any format of word documents.
Thanks

Hi guys,
I asked a little while ago about a database problem i had.
Umm i seem to have figured out a lot of it however have a tiny problem.
Adodc1.Recordset.Find "First_Name = 'dan'", , adSearchForward
this code works and finds the record with first name dan
when i want to use a text box labeled txtSearch
Adodc1.Recordset.Find "First_Name" = txtSearch.Text, , adSearchForward
all hell breaks loose and it don't like it. It says there is an error 3001???
I am soooo close now, if i can get this done that would be very cool!!
And a merry xmas

Try with this:
Adodc1.Recordset.Find "First_Name = '" & txtSearch.Text & "'", , adSearchForward
Thanks

A stupid question now.
How do i transfer selected text from a list box and put that selected text into a textbox??
I thought that it was
listEquip.SelText = Text1.Text
however that don't seem to work
using vb6
cheers
dan

Don't you have the statement backwards ?
It should be Text1.Text = listEquip.SelText
Right ?
|
|

Thanks for the reply!
No it still doesn't seem to work.
there's nothing stupid that i have to enable on the textbox to allow it to have whatever is selected on the listbox put into the textbox?

"listEquip.Text", or "listEqiup.List(listEquip.ListIndex)". The first should be a shorthand-form of the latter, both should give you the text of the item that's selected in the listbox
