Let the computer reboot (restart OS) when u login in ur Laptop perhaps will finf ur USB as new hardware then u can use USB without problems...
If the USB as new hardware need software then install it.

I need help. First of all I know nothing about development on the Windows XP platform. Secondly I need to figure out how to get access to and control a firewire 1394 device from inside of my apllication. It's a MOTU 828mkII audio device. I'm coding in Java/C/C++.
Any suggestions on where to begin?

I would suggest you look various online references that discussses system details on 1394 and its related control/message bus.
You will probably need the windows DDK depending on what you need to do

Hello,
It is mystery with Windows networking.
I have a Windows NT Server Domain Controller that hold Active Directory database. At a client, I added it to the domain and login with a domain account, It worked well. But if I shutdown server, I still remain logon from client by using that domain account. I thought there must be an existence of domain controller for validation and authentication. But in my case, which done for that role?
Does anyone explain it for me?
My both domain controller and client are running Windows 2003 Server (standard version).

Windows operating systems support cached logons for the case where no domain controller is available at logon time. This covers cases such as mobile users who need to be able to log on to their laptops while away from the office.
You can control how many cached logons are kept using Group Policy. The setting is under Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options and is called 'Interactive logon: Number of previous logons to cache (in case domain controller is not available)'.

I found when we apply group policy to computer, after computer restarted, and before I log on, the group policy will be applied. I want to know whick user does it? I think Microsoft add a default user to do it...

It depends whether you want to run an Windows application or a DOS program.
If you want to run a DOS program and you are using Winpx versions of Windows, then you can add a line in AUTOEXEC.BAT to run your program while the Windows boots up.
If you are running a Windows based application, then you can use something called Services. There are a lot of settings which can be made to a perticular service depending on the requirements.

What exactly you mean to say by, "before windows running"?
What I understood is you are having your exe(independent of any API`s or DOS help) and you want to execute it.
Answer for this is:
Your exe should be totally using BIOS calls,cuz at this time no OS has been loaded neither Winpx nor DOS..rt?. So you can make run your exe by modifying MBR code(boot-loader)

Ya mike. It is possible to execute all sorts of programs even bfor OS loads but condition is, no OS dependencies like WIn API`s etc.
-Try to get the things you like, else you will be forced to like the things you get!

If you want to run after an OS is select from the menu, try to learn to create a windows service[^].
But if you want to run it before an OS select, you might need to build you own instrction in assembly.

Hi,
Updates are possible due to type of adapter (display adapters) you are using.
Check it out, which display adapter you are using. Find out in market your relevant adapter & install it.
Nextime when you boot system it will update your display automatically.

Do you mean update the driver of computer display adapter? If so try to use device manager in the hardware tab of my computer property.

Assignment
Write a program in C++ and WIN32 api to implement an unnamed pipe. program should contain two threads ("producer" and "consumer") communicating through a pipe which is implmented using an array having 10 entries( ie 0 to 9). access to the pipe should be synchronized using a semaohore implemented as a " class" .The "p" and "v" operations supported by the semaphore should be exucuted "ATOMICALLY" Which is enforced using WIN32 API functions (e.g the createsemaphore funtion).
NOTE The P and V are the only operations supported by the semaphore class.
The poducer thread gets an integer ( a single digi, 0.....9) from the user and enqueues it into the pipe . The consumer thread always dequeues the first number in the pipe toward the front of the pipe after an item has been deposited ( by the producer) or consumed ( by the consumer)
We should use another "class" (ie the pipe class) to implement the pipe supporting operations " enqueue", "dequeue" and "move". The fisrt two operations have to be synchronized using the semaphore shown above (operation"move " is not because it is invoked by the first two operatios which can directl acces the shared pipe)
Note that your pogram should also be able to take care of the conditions when the pipe is either empty or full.When the consumer thread detects an empty pipe ,it prints a message to the screen.similarl when the producer thread detects afull pipe ,it prints a message to the screen too.
Note also that you should alwas delay the consumer thread by three 3 seconds by inserting a "sleep3000)" (without qoutes ) function into the appropriate place in the consumer thread.
The producer thread shold also show the contents of the pipe after a number is enqueued .
The consumer shouls aslso show the contents of the pipe after a number is dequeued .
The following shows the scenario of running program, where user inputs are underlined
