Try:
http://openil.sourceforge.net/[^]
Downloaded it, but haven't tried it yet myself. There are probably a ton of other libraries, maybe ask in the Visual C++ forum, Google it, or search the Code Project.

I'm trying to see if there are any loop holes in the Window's XP operating system. If there is a student and an admin account in a win XP os, is there a way someone with a student account view or gain access to the admins account and view the password?

No. Whether you have an admin right you could not be able to view the password of another administrator. You can see from an article from an internet when an administrator lost the password, most of an article is reset to a new password, not recover from SAM database. Ok, in summary you have no chance to do this.

Try to check the command sc -create. On the other hand, try to check at the Add/Remove component feature.
Try to read this article[^], it might give you some idea.

This problem cause in windows xp service pack 2 feature. My teacher used to teach me to solve a problem but I forget it. I just remember that you need to change some configuration of windows firewall in control pane. In my opinion, when you mapped a network drive, you should click on the link of logging using a difference user name and password. Then give an appropriate share name and host name. When I get the solution from my teacher I will let you know.

Once again I need to change an environment variable on my system, and once again I've got to navigate to the buried button Start | Control Panel | System | Advanced | Environment Variables, to be presented with just about the most frustrating pair of dinky dialog boxes for editing environment variables.
Is there something better I don't know about? If not, then what is wrong with those Microsoft developers? Don't they ever need this thing? Don't they realize how absolutely retarded it is? What's the big deal about making a replacement for this juvenile effort and relieving millions of developers (and millions more users) from the repetitive UI gestures needed to modify simple strings?

You should right click on your computer and choose properties and go to tab that provide you to access environment variable.
Owen Lawrence wrote: Is there something better I don't know about?
To access environment faster, you should copy the short cut of command prompt to your desktop. Then you can set the evironment variable by using the command SET . Is this what you want?

Well your first suggestion saves me one mouse click, so thanks for that. I've always known about the SET command, and a lot of times I use it. But that's really not much better.
Even regedit is easier to use than these monstrosities. (Don't get me started on how bad the cmd shell is!)

Because it's a depricated way to store data, and MS doesn;t want to spend money on upgrading legacy interfaces.

Hi,
I have a problem while perform an unattend installation by using an answer file. I have exracted the setup manager from the deploy.cab file to c:\deploy folder and every file are extract by default. Then i start to use the setup manager to create unattend installation by using the READ ONLY mode for user. After set all of necessary configuration, I save the asnwer file to c:\deploy\read only.txt path. There is no UDF file because i didn't set any multiple configuration for multiple computer. I just want to test the unattend installation only. In the folder, there are two file are created after i saved the answer file. These file are "read only.txt" and "read only.bat" . And the source file are set to copy from the CDROM during an installation. From the document that I read, when i need to perform an installation from the answer i have to type the following command at the command prom: winnt32 [/unattend[num]:[answer_file][/udf:ID[,UDB_file]] where the command winnt32 is reside. Because I have no UDF file create, i start to type the following command from the command line d:\i386\winnt32 /unattend:"c:\deploy\read only.txt" and press the enter key. The setup could not begin and prompt me that the path to read only.txt is invalid. I already check the file path and there is no problem with it. I read the deploy.chm about unattend installation and read from the book, i just found the syntax as i type in above. I know that my command line might have something ignore that cause an error. If any one know the correct syntax based on an information that I provide, could you help me to correct the syntax of the command that I type in the command prompt?
Thank in advance

in createservice() foll parameters were passed:
1) desired access: service_all_access
2) start type: service_auto_start
3) servicestartname: (NULL)LocalSystem account
4) password: NULL
the service runs fine with computer administrator account but we cannot start/stop the service on a user with limited account.
pls suggest a method such that we can start / stop the service on limited account also.

Developing project with EVC++3.0 and EVC++4.0 I have the following problems:
- the environment is working too slow as if there is lack of memory.
- the project is loaded slow, sometimes 4-5 minutes(and it's not big project).
- putting a breakpoint, new line in the source or 'Go To Difinition' to any function is "freezing" the screen for about 20-30 seconds
I clean the intermediate files of the project, re-building it several times, but it's all the same.
somebody know what may cause this delays?
