www.w3schools try it editor[^] seems to function correctly in both IE and FF....can you post some more code, rather than just the lin that you think is failing...is it possible that it's not actually running under FF? Have you tried to put in a debugger statement, to make sure it's going through the line?

I used to create web methods using the template provided with Visual Studio .NET 2003, all I needed to do is to add the [WebMethod] attribute before the function I want to expose through the web service. But recently I was asked to expose my function to a specific client who is using AJAX and JSP and my return values are required to be sent using the "Response" object!
I don't know how to access this object in a web service, unlike web applications, this object is not easily accessible from within the code.
In fact I have doubts about the whole approach, is it possible and if possible is it practical to send the results back using the "Response" object?
Any help or ideas about the subject are appreciated.
The response from a web service is always a SOAP message. If you want the response to be something else, you have to implement it as a regular web page, then you can return whatever you like in the response.
i wanna know how to use open file dialog control in C# aps.net web application.as i have to save the downloading attachment file on my system through my application. i want help in C# coding instead Asp.
Use the Content-disposition HTTP header. I'm not sure how to do this in C# so I'll give a PHP example and hopefully you or someone else can translate.
header('<code><span class="string">Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="downloaded.pdf"');
This will be saved as download.pdf

In my web page,I have a dynamic dropdown list box and item list comes from database whose field length is 200 ( that item list of name of the college ). But in my web page the width of dropdown list box should have max. 30 charecters to fit my design. When the item's chrecter width is more than 30 then it hampper my design. Now my question how to manage more chrecters (like 100 characters) in the dropdown list box by truncating data to 30 charecters and the user can see the all the carecters by putting mouse over it (like tool tips).
I am using php. Plz help me.
I have an internal page that I use to access seveal SQL server databases as in the following example (I actually have 7 servers) the problem is that there is one server that I get a "connection error, server does not exist or access denied" I have verified that I can connect to all of the servers using the credentials in the configuration from my development station using SQL and ODBC. Not sure how to go about debugging this any suggestions are welcome. I am not sure why I woudl be able to connecto to teh problem server but not the web application
Case "Site A"
sqlConnString = "Data Source = 184.108.40.2064; Integrated Security = False; User ID = MyID; Password = MyPwd; database = MyDatabase; Connect Timeout = 60"
Case "Site B"
sqlConnString = "Data Source = 222.33.444.555; Integrated Security = False; User ID = MyID; Password = MyPwd; database = MyDatabase; Connect Timeout = 60"
Case "Site C"
sqlConnString = "Data Source = 444.555.66.7; Integrated Security = False; User ID = MyID; Password = MyPwd; database = MyDatabase; Connect Timeout = 60"
There is a good chance that from the web server or prod server that can not access the ip address. In code be a DNS issue. I would log onto the server that you are having problems and then see if you can ping the IP address. I would guess you make not be able to access it. You may need to open ports on your network or correct dns settings or something like that.
I have created a Logon page with a ASPNETDB.MDF file in the App_Code.
How can I move this database to a SQL Server in order for other people to authenticate to the DB? At the moment when i log in it works because SQL Express is running on my machine where I developed the site. If someone else tries to logon the Page gives a postback but they are not logged on. I suspect this is because the ASPNETDB is not on a server.
Please help! I used the Web Configuration tool to configure the roles ect...

<div id="Content" onresize="FannyFart()">
The following works in IE but not in FF ( thats FireFox and not Fanny Fart... chuckle )
Theres also resizeend and resizestart which dont make any difference. Can't seem to find anyone else with this problem so I will have to come back to it. Luckily for me its doesnt look that bad and FF compatibility isn't actually essential for this.
Do you think this is the best way to do it? I couldn't think of anything else?
Whatever you want it to be. You change the page. Well, you or code you control in some fashion. Once the document has loaded, it changes in response to code somewhere telling it to change... so whenever code does that, have it call your resize method.
It appears that everybody is under the impression that I approve of the documentation. You probably also blame Ken Burns for supporting slavery.
I have a select box and a button on a web page.
The user will choose a value in the select box then hit the button.
I need the chosen value to be stored in a php session variable and the user redirected to second webpage.
