LOL, nice
I think to answer this question we will need to know more specifics. Your question is too general to warrant an answer beyond this: https://developers.google.com/google-apps/gmail/[^]
And, if you read that, I think you'll come to the same conclusion I did: you can't send emails using the Gmail API.

I see you are living in Denver. I used to travel over there quite frequently when I worked for StorageTek, who had their HQ just off the turnpike near Louisville. Always enjoyed my stays in Colorado, some beautiful places to visit.

Yeah that's basically my stomping ground, I work for Level(3) and used to work at Ball Aerospace. It's so much fun being around here near the airport. I love planes, so I love to see the different ones that go over all day. I was trolling this forum looking for answers to a problem I'm having with KendoUI, but I haven't posted it yet - too much fun to figure it out myself!

Hi All,
I've done some research on preventing email harvesting and would like your comments on the limitations of some of the techniques I've found. I've seen articles that suggested the use of images to replace email addresses on websites and others suggested the use of Javascript to insert spaces between each letter of an email. One limitation that comes to mind using the two techniques above is that although bots can't recognize them as being email addresses, site visitors cannot click on them and be taken directly to Microsoft Outlook or whatever email client software they maybe using. What are your thoughts on the techniques just mentioned and what other techniques do you recommend for preventing email harvesting? Thanks in advance for your response.

Well you could utilise a <form> button which triggers a script to build the email link when user clicks.
Online banking has started to use that method to stop keylogging of extra security measures. Like, character X of your passphrase, user selects from drop down list. No keystrokes recorded.

Manipulating iFrame data is outside the scope of PHP as it's a server side language.
Make yourself familiar with the Same Origin Policy which essentially sums up the reason you're facing this issue.
An article here on CodeProject shows how to use JSONP to collect data cross-site potentially solving your problem.
There are other ways to use PHP to solve your problem however you'd have to change the situation first. Using data a user types in to a form on your site, with CURL you can submit that data to an external [cross]site and manipulate results.

Hi,
I'm hoping someone has an idea about this. For a project I've got a webworker that syncs data with a webserver.
In the UI thread all the ajax calls are made with jQuery.ajax. Obviously i cannot include jQuery in the webworker and they don't seem to have a "raw" version of the ajax function.
For now I had to roll by own.
But does anybody know of a library that can be used outside of the window scope. Maybe someone with node.js experience?

yes. you can use jquery with node.js
using npm (installed along with node)
npm install jquery

Ok. So that means there is a build that doesn't require dom access.
Thanx I'll look into that.

I want to create a switch button to turn on and off status. the problem is this button should be inside a repeater. I dont know how to change on to off and how to pass the the required parameter to save the changes to DB.
The following code is not working and also it is not complete.
here is HTML code :
<pre><asp:Repeater ID="RptRulesAndAlerts" runat="server"
onitemdatabound="RptRulesAndAlerts_ItemDataBound" >
<SeparatorTemplate>
<br />
</SeparatorTemplate>
<ItemTemplate>
<tr valign="middle">
<td width="20%" align="center" valign="middle">
<asp:Panel ID="pnl_status" runat="server" >
</asp:Panel>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</asp:Panel>
</div>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:Repeater>
I am adding the switch button in code behind:
protected void RptRulesAndAlerts_ItemDataBound(object sender, RepeaterItemEventArgs e)
{
if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item || e.Item.ItemType==ListItemType.AlternatingItem )
{
ISRulesAndAlertsDisplay display = e.Item.DataItem as ISRulesAndAlertsDisplay;
<pre> Panel pnl_status = e.Item.FindControl("pnl_status") as Panel;
if (display.Status < 0)
{
HyperLink showDefaultpops = new HyperLink();
showDefaultpops.NavigateUrl = "#";
showDefaultpops.Text = GetLocalResourceObject(display.StatusDescription).ToString();
showDefaultpops.ID = "libtn_DefaultRule";
pnl_status.Controls.Add(showDefaultpops);
}
else
{
var div=new HtmlGenericControl("div");
div.Attributes["class"]=string.Format("OnOff {0}",(display.Status==1)?"ON" :"OFF" );
div.Attributes["Title"] = string.Format("Click Here to {0}", (display.Status == 1) ? "OFF" : "ON");
var span = new HtmlGenericControl("span");
span.Attributes["class"]="on";
span.InnerText="ON";
div.Controls.Add(span);
if (display.Status == 0) span.Style["display"] = "none";
span = new HtmlGenericControl("span");
div.Controls.Add(span);
span = new HtmlGenericControl("span");
span.Attributes["class"]="off";
span.InnerText="OFF";
if (display.Status == 1) span.Style["display"] = "none";
div.Controls.Add(span);
div.Attributes["id"] = "div_status";
pnl_status.Controls.Add(div);
div.Attributes.Add("OnClick", string.Format("toggle({0});",div.ClientID ));
}
Neither the toggle function nor the function in codebehind is working(I commented the part of codebehind function)
and here is the javascript part
<pre><script type="text/javascript" >
$(document).ready(function(){
function toggle(id) {
var element = document.getElementById(id);
if ($(element).hasClass('On')) {
$('.on', this).hide();
$('.off', this).show();
$element.addClass('Off').removeClass('On').attr('title', 'Click here to OFF');
}
else {
$('.off', this).hide();
$('.on', this).show();
$element.addClass('On').removeClass('Off').attr('title', 'Click here to ON');
}
alert("END");
} })
</script>
Even the Alert is not working , I wrote it there to see if the toggle is calling. I really need to have both javascript and the commented function for onclick works. what should I do?
I am pretty beginner in javascript.

You may want to look at the actual html that is getting rendered and see what is getting generated.

I'm building an iOS HTML5 Webapp for a customer. It can run completely offline, which was one of the main requirements. To have them manipulate data I'm using WebSql. Although I need to plan for a future change to indexedDb, for now it works fine.
The only puzzle piece I dont have is how to sync the data back in a secure way. I've made the sync silent. So the user wont have to do anything to keep the data in sync when the connection comes backup. It all works fine, but in the current setup the site is configured for anonymous acces.
The page they have to install it from(e.g. Put on home screen) I could implement forms authentication. But then the user would need to relogin everytime the iPad would come back online to sync.
Unless I set a really long time on the authentication cookie. But I don't really know if that would be harmfull.
Is it harmfull to leave the asp authentication cookie valid for a longer period?
Does anyone have another good idea to make this secure, without the user needing to relogon?

i wanna send a username and password securely from php page(Apache server) to the Java api (Tomcat server). That api should verify them and open the api in the browser.
How can i achieve it guys???
I tried to use webservice but the response from the api is sent to webservice and then only it comes to the browser.
So when the browser tried to open the response page it searches for the script files and images from the Apache server. But those files are actually inside Tomcat server.
Can any one help to solve my problem? plssss........
Thanks,
SJ

It's usually referred to as a guest book.
It's implemented as example code for Microsoft IIS & ASP coders.
