1) Then there's your problem.
2) Wrong forum. This isn't web dev, it's an MDAC or ASP issue.

That's a bit of an odd UI, but... eh, whatever.
$.fn.addOption = function(optText, optVal)
{
this.filter("select").each(function()
{
var opt = new Option(optText, optVal);
this.options.add(opt);
});
}
$(function()
{
$("#textentry").blur(function()
{
var optionText = $.trim(this.value);
this.value = '';
if ( optionText.length > 0 )
$("#dropdown").addOption(optionText);
});
});

Thank you Shog for ur kind response first!!
Can u able to give me an example for that to use that jquery and I don't know how to pass the value to the function, and the function seems to be we have to pass the value of both the name and id. is it?
For me the task is that we have to already defined the names for the corresponding numbers like 1=name1, 2=name2,
I want to add the name in drop down when I just press 1 in textbox
Waiting for ur response.
Thank You

Well, obviously i don't know how you're obtaining IDs or associating names with them, but you could try something like this:
$.fn.addOption = function(optText, optVal)
{
this.filter("select").each(function()
{
var opt = new Option(optText, optVal);
this.options.add(opt);
});
}
var mapIdToName =
{
1 : "name1",
2 : "name2",
3 : "name3",
4 : "George",
5 : "name5"
};
$(function()
{
$("#textentry").blur(function()
{
var optionVal = $.trim(this.value);
var optionText = mapIdToName[optionVal];
this.value = '';
if ( optionText )
$("#dropdown").addOption(optionText, optionVal);
});
});
Something just occurred to me: are you trying to implement an auto-complete / filter system? If so, you should probably check out this: http://bassistance.de/jquery-plugins/jquery-plugin-autocomplete/[^] (soon to be a part of the official jquery.ui suite).

Not sure what that's doing there, but it won't parse. Always pay attention to your errors...

To create web application without the knowledge of programming? Sounds mission impossible.
But with http://www.finereport.com/, it is possible.
On the Excel like workbook, user just need to drag and draw Element (data field, chart, links) to cell, and set the format and editable of the cell, plus the access control, you can turn the template to a web report or a form.
So web application without coding is very possible.

Yeah, i can't help but notice that the "Live Demo" link doesn't work. Heck, the link to your site doesn't even work. Pretty obvious how well ignorant web dev works then, eh?
Get out of here, spammer. Look somewhere else for suckers.

You'd better look again. This site and the forums on it serve a global audience. There are appropriate venues for advertising here; abusing those looking for help or those of us here to assist them is uncalled for.

Then pay for that privilege, or find another site.

I'm currently using a table with four columns to lay out two columns of input fields, as below. Where do I start if I want to stop abusing the table element and achieve the same thing with CSS, or some other layout solution?
colA - colB - colC - colD
lbl1 : txt1 - lbl2 : txt2
lbl3 : txt3 - lbl4 : txt4
|
|
|
|
|
Well, depends - what are your goals here? If you actually want a table, with a fixed number of columns, headers, etc... Then you're already doing the right thing.
If you just want your fields laid out with uniform spacing, you can use CSS and floating DIVs.
If you want something else... ?

I want two vertical sets of label-input pairs, i.e. left and right. I have no idea what options besides a table could achieve this. I have found very few resources until now[1] dealing with this, but hey, what are forums for?

Looks good to me - i'd certainly use it as a reference. Try adding float:left to the li style and increasing the width of the fieldset (or change it to a percentage width) - you'll get the individual fields lining up nicely across the fieldset then, wrapping to the available width (try that with a table!)

Why can't you establish a compatible and shared Authentication system instead of transmitting passwords across the wire, which is considered very insecure these days?

I have a simple four column table based layout, with a left set of label/input pairs and a right set. I specify absolute widths in the table header, as below, and widths of 100% for my inputs, but in IE 7, when the input aren't populated, they shrink down to a minimum width. This doesn't occur in FF 3. What am I doing wrong?
