Just kidding.

Why should I fear? When was I less by dying?

Hi,
I can't get my unit test to work. Here is the error I'm getting (I'm using NUnit)
System.Net.WebException: The request failed with the error message:
--
<html><head><title>Object moved</title></head><body>
<h2>Object moved to <a href="%2fWebServices%2fMyService.asmx%3fAspxAutoDetectCookieSupport%3d1">here</a>.</h2>
</body></html>
--.
What could be wrong? Here is an idea of how my current environment:
- I created a web application in the localhost IIS (a virtual directory)
- under this web app, there is a \WebServices folder containing MyWebService.asmx
- In a different solution (also a different directory), I created a Class Library project with a Web Reference to MyWebService.asmx
- I tried testing a simple Hello World method (code below) and I'm getting the above error.
In MyWebService.asmx
[WebMethod]
public string HelloWorld() { return "Hello World!"; }
In MyWebServiceTest.cs
[Test]
public void HelloWorldTest() {
var svc = new MyWebService();
var str = svc.HelloWorld();
Assert.That(str, Is.EqualTo("Hello World!"));
}
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for replying.
Yes my web services are running... I just found out that it's not really a unit test issue but a general web-referencing issue. What I mean is, if I open the web service through my internet browser and invoke the methods, the methods will execute. However, if I create a simple .net project and add a web reference, I get the error stated above.
Any idea why?
Thanks.

Hi all,
I’ll go straight to the point.
I have Crystal report XI and have created a report, which works fine. However, on the page there is a user id and only that user can see the report according to their user id. In the report I have created a Parameter Fields so the user can select their user id and view the report accordingly. That is only available when you run the crystal application. What I want to so is when a user clicks the view report option, the JavaScript runs on the client side and opens the “.rpt” file. While plugging in the user id so the users don’t have to AND view the file in crystal report viewer. Is this possible? Would appreciate any help on how I can achieve this.
And Thanks

This website is running a crystal report and displaying the results. It works fine on my local machine. When I publish the site and deploy to the server I get the following message:
"Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.Web, Version=10.2.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
What needs to be done to prevent this error?

Duh, have the assembly available. Have you installed Crystal on the webserver? Are the assemblies available in the bin folder?

hi to all,
i have faced a problem in storing the values in the textfield created dynamically by clicking a button. the insert query in the code stores only the first value in the array that is the value from default textfield in the form not the dynamically created ones.
I am using the code:
<?php
$con=mysql_connect("localhost","root","");
mysql_select_db("db_name",$con);
if($_POST["Submit"]=='Submit')
{$comments=$_POST["comm"];
$row=$_POST["file"];
$result=implode(",",$row);
$sql=mysql_query("insert into tablename(fieldname)VALUES('$result','$comments')");
}
?>
<html>
<script language="JavaScript">
var glob;
glob = 1;
function insert_row(tablename)
{
var the_table = document.getElementById(tablename);
var new_row_index = the_table.rows.length;
glob = glob + 1;
the_table.insertRow(new_row_index);
the_table.rows[new_row_index].insertCell(0);
the_table.rows[new_row_index].cells[0].innerHTML =(the_table.rows[0].innerHTML);
}
function removeRowFromTable(tblSample)
{
var tbl = document.getElementById(tblSample);
var lastRow = tbl.rows.length;
if (lastRow > 1) tbl.deleteRow(lastRow - 1);
}
function removeRowFromTable(tblSample)
{
var tbl = document.getElementById(tblSample);
var lastRow = tbl.rows.length;
if (lastRow > 1) tbl.deleteRow(lastRow - 1);
}
function validateRow(frm)
{
var chkb = document.getElementById('chkValidate');
if (chkb.checked) {
var tbl = document.getElementById('tblSample');
var lastRow = tbl.rows.length - 1;
var i;
for (i=1; i<=lastRow; i++) {
var aRow = document.getElementById('txtRow' + i);
if (aRow.value.length <= 0) {
alert('Row ' + i + ' is empty');
return false;
}
}
}
openInNewWindow(frm);
}
</script>

the html -
should be -
and the javascript should also generate the controls with name="increment[]".
If this fails then try to put the index for the control through javascript i.e. increment[0] for the first one, increment[1] for the second one ....
This will result in an array of values which you can handle through the PHP script after form post.

It's not even fully displayed.
Use the "Ignore HTML" option when you are pasting markup code.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

Hi,
there are two ways to hide a control in javascript
1. document.getElementById('name').style.visibility = 'hidden'
this will hide a control but the space occupied will not be freed as you described.
2. document.getElementById('name').style.display = 'none'
use this, it will help you.
To unhide use
document.getElementById('name').style.display = ''
But do add a 'style' tag to div.

Has anyone run into a problem trying to use SQL Server 2008 as a datasource in SharePoint Designer?
I can connect to an instance of SQL Express 2005, though I have to edit the select command to include the schema, but I can't get a connection to a SQL Server 2008 instance. I even tried adding a connection to a SQL Express instance then editing the SqlDataSource control; didn't work.
