It appears that when you are importing an image, you are including the entire Amazon url and loading the full detail page for the item (including your tag) in the source code instead of only including the image url. Seems like they told you what the problem was.

One problem: we're not importing images. I'm assuming that was a guess on their part? And a wrong one.

I still think they are the only ones that can help you. You should contact them and ask for specifics.

Hello All,
I've got this page which I've created in html and css with a left drop down left side bar or menu. However, the article in the page is always shown on the bottom of the menu.
I would like the article text to be shown right of the menu but for some reason cannot do this. I've tried just about everything I can think of. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong or how to position it to the right of the left hand menu.
Thanks in advance,
R.

Well, you've obviously not tried very much!
Start by removing the width:7% from the .leftMenu ul li a rule. Then use one of the following options:
Option 1: Using float
.leftMenu
{
float: left;
width: 10em;
}
Demo[^]
Option 2: Using display: table
Add a wrapper <div> around the menu and article, with the CSS class wrapper .
.wrapper
{
display: table;
table-layout: fixed;
}
.wrapper > nav,
.wrapper > article
{
display: table-cell;
}
.wrapper > nav
{
width: 10em;
}
Demo[^]
Browser support[^]
Option 3: Using display: flex
Add a wrapper <div> around the menu and article, with the CSS class wrapper .
.wrapper
{
display: flex;
}
.wrapper > nav
{
width: 10em;
}

I went through this tutorial:
WCF RESTful service and WebGrid in ASP.NET MVC 5 : WCF RESTful service and WebGrid in ASP.NET MVC 5 - Part 1[^]
and everything seemed fine. In the web service project if I browse to the customerService.svc file the web service page comes up fine. In the MVC controller I am using the same web service url string that is copied from the actual browser that did display in the service just fine:
customerServiceUri = "http://localhost:55429/CustomerService.svc"
I have a break point in the code where the customerList is assigned a value:
public ActionResult Index()
{
List<Customer> customerList = new List<Customer>();
using (WebClient webClient = new WebClient())
{
string dwml;
dwml = webClient.DownloadString(customerServiceUri + "GetAllCustomers");
customerList = JsonConvert.DeserializeObjectAsync<List<Customer>>(dwml).Result;
}
return View(customerList);
}
The web method definition is below:
[WebGet(ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json, BodyStyle = WebMessageBodyStyle.Bare, UriTemplate = "GetAllCustomers")]
IEnumerable<CustomerEntity> GetAllCustomers();
Now when the controller Index code runs with the Web method called I get the following error:
An exception of type 'System.Net.WebException' occurred in System.dll but was not handled in user code
Additional information: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.
The strange thing is if I put a break point in the code where the customerList is assigned a value and I comment out the web method (GetAllCustomers) and just use the web service url no 404 exception occurs. It seems to find the web service just fine but there is a problem when I try to make a call to the web method.
dwml = webClient.DownloadString(customerServiceUri);
Has anyone experienced the same problem? I must of forgot to add something or broke something in one of the tutorial files.

Think about it, what is
customerServiceUri + "GetAllCustomers"
?
http:

I am a bit confused. I tried:
readonly string customerServiceUri = "http://localhost:55429/CustomerService";
customerServiceUri + ".svcGetAllCustomers"
I am still getting:
The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.
|
|
|
|

The desired url is
http://localhost:55429/CustomerService.svc/GetAllCustomers
so your code needs to be
customerServiceUri + "/GetAllCustomers"

Thanks! I don't know how I missed that but it has been a while since I worked with web services.

I have a WCF service that implements client call backs. A client can send a message to the service which then in turn notifies all other clients. I can pass an object of any type to the service and have it sent to all other clients.
1) Any reason to NOT use WCF other than the fact that it's complicated to setup and maintain?
2) Are call backs like this possible using ASP.Net MVC APIs?
3) Can you provide some resources on how to do this?
Thanks

You might be better using SignalR as it is designed for this kind of thing.

Hi!
Windows 7
php 5.4.45
xdebug from xdebug wizard
phpshtorm 9.0
According to phpinfo() xdebug installed correctly. Validation of xdebug in phpshtorm goes without errors. I made all things in PHPShtorm to start debugging. When i try to start debug phpshtorm say that 9000 port is busy and debugging dont start. If change port in php.ini and phpshtorm the result is the same. By means of netstat i found out that the port is occupied by phpshtorm. Incredible!!!!
What is wrong?

You have already posted this in the Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP forum:
Problem around XDebug, PHPShtorm - Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP Discussion Boards - CodeProject[^]
Posting the same question in multiple forums duplicates work and annoys people.
Pick one forum, post your question there, and have a little patience. If you don't get an answer right away, don't re-post it. Remember, most of the people who answer questions here have real jobs to do as well, and they might not be in the same time-zone as you.

I think this sounds like a good project for the university CS program to tackle. I would highly suggest talking to the department head to see about organizing it as a learning activity.
If that's a non-starter, perhaps using some of that monumental university funding to actually hire a professional to handle your development tasks might be a good idea.
Also, for future reference, treating the professional's (or enthusiast's) bread and butter as "and bla bla" is not a great way to foster cooperation.

That's pretty vague.

My friend and I have recently put up the website: www.chessratings.org . It is being hosted on my friends machine which runs Linux and uses Apache to host the site. When a user goes to the web address it works but in the address bar of the browser wwww.chessraings.org is gone and the URL of the site is shown. We do not understand why and we want to turn off this behavior.

how do you mean 'URL' of the site is shown ? www.chessratings.org is (a) URL - what do you see .. an IP address ?
Are you using a static tcp/ip address on the Linux machine with a DNS entry ?

When the user goes to the site, the IP address of the site is shown in the address bar.
We are using a static TCP/IP address on a Linux machine with a DNS entry.
