I think I just found out what's wrong. I was using a script.aculo.us effect before I set the element's class and it looks like script.aculo.us was setting that elements background to white using it's style attribute which has precedence over class tags.
Although, I'm not sure how to fix THIS...

forgive me if this has already been discussed (i'm new, obviously).
i want to be able to first login to my website using a standalone visual application (obviously through HTTP - also Asynchronously), then be able to add or explore data (think of the server side as a php blog application using mysql - i.e. wordpress). so for example the query for adding data is like:
http://site.com/add.php?article_id=22&title=hello
(and this would only work if i'm logged in)
assuming i have already written the api for the interface with the database (using php and mysql), what is the easiest way to make that standalone file? (and i mean literary standalone (one exe file only) that would work on as many different platforms as possible.
could anybody by any chance provide some sourrce code too?
an example of what i'm looking for in general would be Rapidget:
http://rapidshare.de/en/rapidget.html
hope that wasn't too long of a description
thank you

Explain the method yaar....ho wis it possible...????
|
|
|
|
|
I am unfamiliar with using reflection. The method I use is thus:
In Solution Explorer, right click on the References, select Add Reference from the context menu. This opens up a window showing many available references. If you are adding a custom or third party reference, just click the Browse button on the right of the windows, find the ddl file and select it.
You may then have to add a Using reference to your code behind pages to expose its classes eg:
using ApplicationDataBlocks;
or
using Neodynamic.WebControls.BarcodeProfessional;
Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Hope this helps.
Words fade as the meanings change, but somehow, it don't bother me.

hi people,
I have a webservice with a method called ValidateClient . I also have a Windows Forms application that is supposed to call this web method asynchronously. In fact, all I want is to have a callback method from the webserver to the client. Normally, when you add a reference to the webservice, you get 3 methods: ValidateClient , BeginValidateClient and EndValidateClient . With those 2 methods, you can assign a callback method that the webservice calls when it's done.
I am using Visual Studio 2005 (framework 2.0)
My problem is now that Intellisense doesn't give me the Begin and End methods. I went to the Reference.cs file of the webservice and didn't find them either. What I have however is a method called ValidateClientAsync . It fires an event ValidateClientCompleted when it finishes executing on the server side and it is asynchronous.
Why did these 2 methods disappear? Do I have to include some attribute in the web method to make them available?
I would like to call my web method from inside a loop. I am not interested in the asynch aspect of it, I am only interested in the callback aspect of it. Is there a way of assigning a callback to a method without being asynchronous?
What I have been thinking of is that if it has to be asynchronous, I can make the loop wait for it to execute by using WaitOne() or something similar. As I was reading the documentation, I found that in order to use WaitOne() I need a WaitHandle and this can only be acquired by having a callback of some sort. Did I understand this right?
I am also using WSE 3.0.
Thanks for your insight on the matter.
Talal.

I am trying to create an complex object to send back as a response to a request.
for example:
[SoapMethod("GetRO")]
public RODataResponse GetRO( GetRORequest request )
{
RODataResponse resp = new RODataResponse();
string a = request.target;
string b = request.roId;
resp.status = "GetRO Goooood";
resp.roData = null;
return resp;
}
My object is defined as:
public class RODataResponse
{
public string status;
public RepairOrder roData;
}
Which contains a complex object that fails with a serialization error when using Wse2wsdl.exe.
public class RepairOrder
{
public Dictionary<string, LineItem> lineItemList = new Dictionary<string, LineItem>();
public RepairOrder()
{
lineItemList.Add( "one", new LineItem());
}
}
My question is how do you make this work? How do I make a list of items serializible?

Hi,
I need to load a dll with javascript.
I already succeeded in loading object with a ClassId via the:
var mydll = new ActiveXObject("App.ClassID"); You probably can use the CreateObject function as well.
Now I need to plug-in another dll, which is a .NET assembly. I can't find any clsID in the registry and can't find anything to load the dll. I think there is a function LoadLibrary available, but I have no idea how to use it.
So how can I load a dll with javascript with only knowing the filename?
I hope somebody can help me.
tnx in advance !
PS: the dll in question contains stuff for printing data and runs locally. (so no funky stuff with virusses, trojans, etc)

V. wrote: LoadLibrary available,
LoadLibrary is not available to Javascript. You must use COM objects. Besides you can't "load" a .NET assembly using LoadLibrary yourself, the platform must do the loading.
It sounds like you need your .NET objects to be exposed as COM objects. This can be done by creating a COM-callable wrapper, see this MSDN article[^]

Hi
You can return XML node from the Web Method and then on other end you have to store that XML node and after parsing you will get the values.
Following is the sample code for that
<web method="">
public function A() as XMLNode
dim XND as new XMLNode
.....your code....
.....Store the output in the XML Node
return XND
On ASPX page
dim XNDC as XMLNode
XNDc = <webservice object="">.A()
Then you can parse the xml node
for you outout

I have to call Web Method from ASP Pages. But I don’t want to wait for output of the web method. So I had tried to call it Asynchronous call using begin and end. But still it is waiting.
What methodology should I apply so that I can get my goal.
