Sending SMS using a device application in C#/VB.NET 2005

Hi friends,

Im currently doing a project in .NET (Visual Studio 2005, Device Application), in which i need my application to send sms to a specified number. I tried to google the code, but no success yet Can anyone please give me link to a sample project/source code for this?? Plz help me Cry | :((

Note: I just want to send sms to one recipient at a time. So basically what i want is to embed the inbuilt sms feature of my Pocket PC into my application..

Investigate using RAPI, and then work out a custom solution of how to communicate with your ap. i.e. monitoring directory, com, calling function in a dll, execing an exe etc.

i want to create an application that is able to send SMS from mobile phone.
here mobile phone should connect by a data cable to the computer.
i find mobile phone by detecting serial com port method.
i also taking help of this article

Is anyone aware of a straightforward guide on how to get this working? Googling brings up lots to do with .NET but not C++. Is it actually worth trying it or is it better to move to C#?

Sure. It is actually more straightforward than everyone let's on.

You can use my library. I wrote a highly object oriented library.

Hi all,

I have a challenge:
I want to use the Form.Hide() method (triggered by an Deactivate event) since it really hides the form so the app can not be closed from the memory or task manager. You probably guessed its behaving like a service Smile | :)

. I have some code that puts an icon in the task tray and when tapped, it brings back up the form (Form.Show()). The purpose of this is to show statusses and give the oportunity to change behaviour by changing settings. This all works fine.

However, I can't find/think of any code that Show()'s the form after relaunching it from the Start > Programs menu. Does anyone have any idea? Trying mutex detection didn't work, so I think that NetCF already has a mutex check done before I get to it in the Main() method in program.cs.

OS: Windows Mobile 6 (Professional and Standard)
NetCF 2.0
Language used: C#

Socket Communication over WiFi not working in Windows Mobile

I am trying to send some data using TCP via WiFi to a desktop PC.

I am using a TCP Listener and socket in the PD

I am using TCPClient in the windows mobile.

When the Mobile is connected to a PC ( not necessarily the server ), the winmo is able to send the data.

But when the mobile is connected to wifi, the same code fails.
I am getting a "SocketException"

But I am able to ping the server.

What may be the reason

probably some problem with handling the sockets.. i have created a device application which allows remote desktop control of a PC connected to PDA via WiFi... i too got a lot of socket exceptions Big Grin | :-D

You need to set all the properties of sockets like timeout and port number right to make it working... Even then, it showed socket exception after working for a certain time period.. make sure all your threads are running the way it should..

Dear All,
I working for Windows Ce 6.0 application with .net 2005
I am trying to open .ppt file programatily but unable to do that.
My string is

"\Windows\wt6sppt.exe \Windows\wt6explr.exe#/d wt6ppt*.dfr \Hard Disk\hello.ppt"

if i execute above string from Run promt its working fine and open the file.
Please help or suggest some ideas to execute the string programatily.

Is the code in C++? I suppose you have to use '\\' instead of '\' in code.

Hello

I am developing a mobile web application in which, I want that the application should first which phone it is asking request & then detecting the size of the screen & once it have all the thing detected it should display the web pages according to the size of the screen.

so here can anyone help me in developing this application as i am new to it or can guide me if anything wrong in this working of application ??

Please take a look at http://51degrees.codeplex.com. It is an ASP.NET open source module which detects mobile devices and provides auto redirection to mobile optimized pages when request is coming from mobile device. It makes use of WURFL mobile device database. For redirection there is no need to modify existing ASP.NET web application pages.

Hi folks!

I have a Motorola/Symbol MC70 running a Compact Framework 2.0-application.
The app receives commands from the network and displays custom-controls inside a panel.
My problem is, that the creation of the control takes a lot of time.

Are there any ideas how i could speed up this process?

All things are depend on your Custom-Control. What approach you are using while developing, you can optimize the performance of control.

While developing custom control you can follow some tips.

1) Before rendering control load all images.
2) Choose appropriated data type.
3) Use off bitmap screen.
4) Try use less property

Hello,
         I have written code Win32 for the launch of the flash10d.ocx control. The code is compiling fine n working but when i try to use the same code for my WinCE programming, it doesnt work.
In case of Win32, i have included the following linein my code-

   #import "c:\\windows\\system32\\macromed\\flash\\Flash10d.ocx" named_guids
                  using namespace ShockwaveFlashObjects;

However, when i use the same, for loading a control names "axPhoner.ocx" which was obtained from the brothersoft site, it doesnt compile and the 1st error given out is-

error C2440: 'return' : cannot convert from '__missing_type__ *' to '__missing_type__'     d:\my project\my project\my project\windows mobile 6 professional sdk (armv4i)\debug\axphoner.tli

Can someone please help me with the code for launching an ActiveX control from WinCE or if anyone can please suggest me like where to look for it.

Using flash10e.ocx in wince

Hi,
I have flash10e.ocx file with IShochkwaveFlash interfaces which are used for playing flash content.(Play(),LoadMovie() etc)
I have tried playing a .swf using this flash activeX control in win32 environment. But could any one suggest a way to use this flash activex control(flash10e.ocx) on wince handset?How will I program to use the exposed interfaces on wince Platform?How will i port this activeX control on wince? Confused | :confused:
