I am agree what Blue_Boy suggested. You have to use AjaX Update Panel and TimerControl.
Bellow if the codesnippet, where I am updating the lblComments Value after a specific time

Steps will be:
1 GridView inside UpdatePanel
2 TimerControl interval = 1minute
3 In Tick event of Timer bind GridView with select statement which is ordered by column's desceding

Ive been trying to find a way to access a drop down list value that is within the item template in a details view. This drop down list is conected to a database and i want to recover the value that is loaded when the page loads.
So can anyone help me with some clues on how to go about this??

Do this:
DropDownList ddl = (DropDownList)dtv.Rows[index].FindControl("ddlTemplate");
ddl gets the reference to the dropdown in the item template, i.e ddlTemplate.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi to All..!
Please Help me to solve my problem.
I have uploaded my website on server. In my web application i have used tree view whose nodes are filled through database. It is kept on Master Page. Database is also on the server. My Problem is When i open my website through server, after login, i switch to home page where tree view is loaded but cannot view the tree structure it shows the blank page only i can view the banner of my website where as the same project is on my IIS connected to the same database. Here i can view the tree structure and the contents of the home page.
So please tell me how to solve this problem.

Yes you can. at load time make XML and then search only that XML.

Hi,
does the query took to long? Maybe you are retrieving too many results to display?
1. Why do you convert the data into XML? XML-processing is slow and should only be used with small amounts of data.
2. You could use different approches to speed up your site (caching etc.) but for this we need to know more about the architecture/code you are using at the moment. Maybe you could go into more detail...
