Hi. I've two drop down list in asp.net form. first one is a standard server side drop down list control and binded from the server side. second one is html select element and binded through javascript at the client side by AJAX depending upon the value selected from the first drop down list. after binding second drop down list when we post back the page, i'm unable to access all the element of the second drop down list at the server side even second is has attribute runat server. where is problem???

Bound on the client side using AJAX? Is this using the built in UpdatePanel, or are you making a web service call?

It's XML, a C# app could read it as such and modify it. If it can be accessed from within your website code, I guess you'd have to try and see.

Just be careful, as when you change your ASP.net web.config file, your app domain will restart...

It seems you know NOTHING about ASP.NET. Buy a book, read MSDN, do something to give yourself a basic idea before asking questions. If you don't know the answer to this, I have to wonder about your ability to comprehend it, if told. It's really incredibly trivial.

A repeater does nothing for you, you need to define a template to display the data.

Actually i know the binding of datasourse.But i created an XML file and created a DataSet of it and tried to access data but did'nt got the result correct.

You can bind repeater through sqldatasource or through code
for display the data:
you should use manual table inside repeater for formating, because there is no AutoFormating.And it is good practice for using repeater because it is lightweight.
use this: in asp.net 2.0

Please correct me if i am in the wrong post
i am pulling data from a db to populate a crystal report document.
when i run the query in 'toad 4 sql editor'' or sql management studio' i get about 6800 records
but when the report is generated i get only 4 records.
I even test the rows of the datatable being passed to the reports and it says 6800 records
but the report actually shows 4 records in the first and only page.
no subsequent pages exist
here is a samnple code

what i understood from your post is
1) you might have restricted records accidentally in rpt file....
2) or in crystal report viewer... if the dataset/datatable showing correct # of records..

None of this code matters. If you're getting a null, it's null in your DB, I assume. Are you claiming it's not ?
What if you step through the code, is the value from the reader null, or just your ugly. VB6 style cast is returning null ?

Is it possible to bind two data source into single grid view? I m doing the shopping cart. in my shopping cart gridview, i already call Cart and Food table together in 1 sqldatasource.. Now i need to call another table that are Cart and SetFood table.. so.. can i have 2 data source? or can i have 2 select command in one datasource?? How to bind this 2 data to single gridview? Your idea and suggestions are really appreciated... thx

Hi Everyone,
I am developing an application in which I need to implement SMS polling and voting feature.
Suggest me some reliable SMS gateway providers whose Web Services I can consume in my application. I need to store the results back in to the database, so I need to receive the SMS also and store the result with Sender's detail.
Also suggest me that as a developer which things I need to take care of while developing such application...
