Hi,
Currently I am calling web methods exposed by our vendor and directly get the result. Is there any way I can access the actual soap XML used in this transaction??
I want to get those XML through application so that I can same request/response XML to our database for each transaction.
This functionality sounds very basic and simple for it be not available through default framework classes, but I am unable to find any way for last couple of days.
Any suggestions?????
Thanks.

Are there any gotchas when developing an ASP.NET 2.0 website under Vista IIS7 but deploying it to Windows Server 2003 IIS6?

The only issue I've come across is the way custom httphandlers are handled and written in web.comfig. Otherwise, I've been writing/deploying under this scenario for a while now without any problems.

Hello friends,
I want to print reports in in asp.net 2.0. I am using report viewer (rdlc) to print reports. But I have to export a report in Excel or PDF to print. Is it possible to print a report directly, by pressing single button? (without exporting)

Hey
When a gridview uses templated columns and doesnt show all the data available to it eg:
a datasource requests itemId, itemName, itemCost, itemDescription, itemQuantity
but the gridview only shows itemName, itemCost, itemDescription.
Is all the data sent client side or is only the relevant itemName, itemCost, itemDescription
sent?
Thanks

I have a strange problem when I publish my website. I inherited this project and the problem started before I arrived so I don't know what conditions lead to the creation of the problem.
Basically, 3 folders below the website project fail to publish properly. When the PrecompiledWeb is transferred to the host these three folders have to be manually copied from the Visual Studio project (i.e. they are no longer the published versions) to the host for it to work.
If the results of the publish operation are left, any page in the folder results in the following error:

well the error message tells you where the eror is: on line 2. And line 2 is where the DreamweaverCtrls library (dll) is referenced - so I can only assume that you haven't referenced and/or copied it into your application's bin/ folder. I further assume that this dll has either been built earlier in the book, or came with it on a CD, or is downloadable off the book's website.

Hi,
I am new to ASP.NET and I would like to know how to solve the following situation:
I have my default.aspx written in C# which is through the user can navigate to Books.aspx and access a list of books and their authors. In default.aspx I included a search button to enable the user to search the books by author and title. Now, I don't know the code to write to let the user click on the search button navigate to Books.aspx and be directed to a speicif location. This means if the user enters in the text area Mark knox and the title history he should see Books.aspx and the cursor should move to the specific location.
I don't want the user to just be able to navigate to the top of Books.aspx because there will be thousands of books with the author name and their title. The user would be exhausted before finding a Book.
Please help me, I am new to ASP.NET and I need this as soon as possible.
Thank you

Apart from the fact that no-one can be of much help wihtout knowing how books.aspx is produced, it ounds to me like you're trying to run before you can walk.
The key to solving complex problems is to break them down into smaller ones.
and, btw, a subject line like "urgent help needed" is not going to win you any friends.. You've already alienated yourself from half this site by posting this quesiton in the lounge.. Just as in life, so in this site and so in programming: take the time to start at the beginning and read the primers before jumping in at the deep end.

I would have thought what you really need to do is filter your list of books, particularly if there are going to be thousands of books as the page will take an eternity to load.

You must have some very prolific authors if some of them haev written thousands of books

ok, let us suppose that i reduce the number of books and they become hundred. I still want to know how to load Books.aspx and point to a specific location depending on the choice of the user.

You use anchor tags, but its poor design

Ok, anchors may work but I do not know how would i implement them here, could you show me an example. Since you mentioned that this would be a poor design so what else do you suggest.
Your help is appriciated

You basically need to create an anchor for each position on the page you need to jump to and wite a little bit of javascript to do just that. There are plenty of examples to be found on google, just search for anchor text.
As I said earlier, it would be much better to filter the results so that only the relevant data is shown. While working with a few records the page load time is not significant, but if you had say 2 million records then it would ake forever to display the page.

Don't use words like urgent in your subject line or post. It is very rude.

Hi guys
I have a gridview which uses onrowclick.
When a row is clicked an event is fired.
Is there a way to disable the row click on one of the columns?
thanks
The answers posted by me are suggestions only and cannot be used in anyway against me.

|
|
hi,
For disabling row click on one of the columns ,you can give an if condition on onrowclick event as below
If (e.ColumnIndex = 0) then
else
End if
In the else case you can write the code for that event.
Hope this will help you
