Documentation[^] says this clearly.
ServicePath - The path to the web service that the extender will pull the word\sentence completions from. If this is not provided, the service method should be a page method.

Unless you tell what you tried so far, I don't think that I can help you.

I have a gridview and I want to sort so I added the code but when I click the column header to sort, the page comes back empty with no grid and no data. This is a grid that I bound to my datasource. I also have another button to do some other processing to selected records, and that button works, however, it doesn't bring back the gridview with the data in it either. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like you are not binding the datasourse on postback.
Have you bound the datasource to the gridview in codebehind?
and forgotten to rebind it when the page (updatepanel) posts back?

Is using session variable as a reference to a datatable bad pratice?
It seems to be an easy way to keep a datatable in scope when going from page to page but for a high traffic website is this going to cause problems on the web server?

Most likely. Of course "high traffic" is an ambiguous term, but in it's general use, yes. If you take some time to Google using MSDN as the first keyword followed by key words like Session Cache Database etc., you should have no trouble finding plenty of information on the subject.

Probably. The DataTable will stick around until the end of the session. That is normally 20 minutes after the last page request. If you have a large number of users you are going to run out of memory fairly quickly.

Easy is not always best.
On a high volumn site the extra load needed to store those DataTable objects could cause your site to slow down more than if you just re-loaded the data on each page load.
You can, of course, configure your session to be stored in a database so it doesn't take so much memory. But doesn't that defeat the point?

Hi, I am new to .net and i have this maybe silly question. i have this test list view and i want to take a item field and poste it in a label when selected. here is the code.
<br />
Protected Sub DepartmentsListView_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) <br />
<br />
MessageLabel.Text = "The key value is " & _<br />
DepartmentsListView.SelectedValue.ToString() & "."<br />
Label1.Text = DepartmentsListView.SelectedItemTemplate.InstantiateIn<big>(what else come here?)</big> <br />
<br />
End Sub<br />
<br />
I was looking for info on that, but not luck.
thanks for you attention

Hello!
The selectedItemTemplate is only a template of how the item should be displayed.
You should write something like this instead:
You have to excuse my lack of VB knowledge
Protected Sub DepartmentsListView_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
MessageLabel.Text = "The key value is " & _
DepartmentsListView.SelectedValue.ToString() & "."
Here comes my non VB skills in hand
ListViewDataItem dataItem = DepartmentsListView.Items[DepartmentsListView.SelectedIndex]
Label1.Text = dataItem.FindControl("TheItemField").Text
End Sub
And as i said, i have never written VB so the syntax may be totaly wrong, but hopefuly if will guide you some.
and also, i have not tested the code.

i know to search the text But the Problem is when i type a keyword how it will direct from the URL to its HomePage and then How the search occurs in the whole page.Is there any algorithm used here.
One Idea is to fetch the page into a temporary file into a database and then searching each file in the database.But Then also i dont know How it could be done?????
Does ASP.NET support any feauture to solve this problem..
Please Help my Friend.............

I am developing a web page. I have FileUpload control and an Upload button. Clicking Upload button uploads the selected image
path = Server.MapPath("Pictures") + "\\" + FileUpload1.FileName;
FileUpload1.SaveAs(path);
Picture1.ImageUrl = path;
Picture1 is the Image control.
Then I try to convert it into grayscale
Bitmap image = new Bitmap(Picture1.ImageUrl);
image = GrayScale(image);
the function converts the file I have checked by saving it
//image .Save ("C:\\image11.bmp");
What I want to do is I want to display this new bitmap Image in the Image web control.
One way that I think is to save it to the server then assigning the url to the Picture1(image control) but I cannot assign this bitmap Image to the fileUpload control.
Looking forward to hear a good solution from codeproject team.
Thank You

I have found a solution
http://www.eggheadcafe.com/community/aspnet/6/10017423/load-image.aspx
just need to convert it into C#
Set the Picture1.ImageUrl="Imager.aspx";
// and in page load write
Bitmap image = new Bitmap(Session ["FileName"].ToString ());
image = ConvertGrayScale(image);
image.Save(Response .OutputStream ,ImageFormat.Jpeg );
I have used Session as I am displaying an image at server after editing. ConvertGrayScale is not necessary as it is my function to convert Image to grayScale.
