Hi guys.
I'm building APS.NET (VB) site that connects to Communicator API to get user status (phone list).
The code works fine on local machine (when I test or access my site thourhg localhost) but when I install the site on a server or try to access my dev machine it from a network if throws me:
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {8885370D-B33E-44B7-875D-28E403CF9270} failed due to the following error: 80080005.
This line fails
communicator = New CommunicatorAPI.MessengerClass
Thanks for your help.

Hello Friend!
I've created a page that create runtime control as follows
HtmlAnchor ha = new HtmlAnchor();
ha.InnerHtml = "";
but instead of displaying image, it shows alter text.
when i create the img tag at design time it shows the image.i.e., path is ok.
Please help me to show the image.

Try using the Image control:
Image ha= new Image();
ha.ID = "img2";
ha.ImageUrl = @"Membership/img/icon-calendar.gif";
ha.AlternateText = "d";

Try this:
ha.ImageUrl = @"~/Membership/img/icon-calendar.gif"; Have a look at the page source to see what is been written out to the browser and verify that the path is correct.

How can I identify that my VS 2005 has the ability to open "Web Applicaion".
Is there a difference between Open website and Open Project?
Regards,

I am trying to open a web project and it do not open...
I have a solution which has two library projects abd one web project...

Click on Help / About Microsoft Visual Studio and you will see a list of the installed products, if the Visual Web Developer product is not listed then you will not be able to open a web project.

Have you configured the web project folder in IIS?
If you are not using IIS for development then try to open the via File / Open / Web Site and browsing to the folder. You can then add the other projects to the solution.
Yes I did it.. I am able to add the website and the other two solutions.
But they give some errors of missing references.
So does this proves that: My VS 2005 has the ability to open all the projects I had...
I have been suggested to open the whole stuff as a project...

Pavas

Hi all,
I am working in ASP. and new to .NET.i have one clarification, can we reuse ASP code in ASP.net???
If U Get Errors U Will Learn
If U Don't Get Errors U Have Learnt
What code you are planning to reuse ? Usually it's not possible or not a good idea, you will mess up things.
the htm and jscripts.....
if u can suggest , what code can be reused ?????
If U Get Errors U Will Learn
If U Don't Get Errors U Have Learnt
HTML and Javascript can be re-used. It has no dependencies with ASP/ASP.NET.
