Hi,
I appreciate that you have send me that link, but I can't view that solution coz its only for members..
So is it about storing session in a db? We have considered that, but an alternative to db storage is what we are looking for.
Regards,
Blumen

Is there another way without storing session in shared db?

Perhaps we can have a bridging ASPX page in either side to translate the cookies from one to another. We normally use this trick for transferring cookies among partner websites which should support a single logon.

I think that storing the session in a shared db is the best way
What is your reasoning for not doing this?
Do you want a less clunky way?
There might be a lot of reasons for that:
1) Geographical distributions of the servers in the cluster and hence his apprehensions towards any performance bottlenecks.
2) Database size limitation or restrictions.

we are using SQL 2000 in the backend..
they don't want to use db sharing of sessions, they want an alternate way.

how to change the linkbutton text name through javascript when aother button is clicked and how to retrive the same changed value in this button click method
I believe the link button is rendered as A (HtmlAnchor). You can manipulate the InnerText property of the same, I guess.

yes wat u said that only i did ..it is changing the text but when calling in the server side as linkbutton.text then it is not showing the changed the text value

Yep. That was expected right? Do you want to preserve the old value also? Then you can have some custom attribute emitted the first time and tag the value to it. Or have some hidden field in the form, to preserve it.

Not too sure about Link Buttons, but here is a possible code-sample:
function hideButton()
{
var b1 = document.getElementById('Button1');
void(b1.style.visibility = 'hidden')
}

Something that's been bugging me for just over a day now....
For some mystically strange reason, I am UNABLE to get 2 panels on a single page to sit side by side...
I'm not NEW to ASP.NET (In the sense I've been coding in it for 2 years... Which MIGHT seem like "new" to the people who've been coding for the past 700 years, starting when Binary was new, but you get the idea )
Either my Visual Studio 2008 Pro is broken, or my resolution is too high, or my mouse isn't dragging properly, or something....
These 2 panels REFUSE to sit next to each other!!!

Panel 1 Panel 2

Hope those (Rather crudely "drawn") illustrations got my query across
