Permanent solution is to upgrade hard disk space. BTW, why did you down voted some one who tried to help ?

Yeah, that's why I did not respond. What answer IS there beyond buying a bigger HDD ? I mean even if he can optimise for this, it will only be something else, if he's that close to the edge. On a server ?

People like you are what's wrong with this site. Soon, people will not help folks if they seem to be completely ignorant to start with, because they will be scared of getting 1 votes because what they say is true and does not alter reality.
In other words, it will be harder to get an answer if you're obviously stupid to start with. That will be a sad day.

Just because you didn't like the answer? I'm with CG and his comments.
Does it matter what I write here? Someone just has to say something about it.

I have created a shared resource file. From with my code-behind files I am able to access the strongly-typed fields with my resource.
For example, Literal1.text = MySharedResource.Properties.Resources.Username. Where Username is a key in my Resources.resx file.
However, when I try to use explicit expressions from within my aspx page, I am not able to reference the field.
For example, in my web page I have <asp:literal id="Literal1" runat="server" text="">]]>" />. This does not work. I tried fully-qualifying the class, this does not work either. <asp:literal id="Literal1" runat="server" text="">]]>" />
Any thoughts on how I can use a shared resource file with explicit expressions?
Thanks.

Hi Steve,
Try this one.
<asp:Literal ID="liUserName" runat="server" Text='<%$Resources:Resource,UserName %>'></asp:Literal>
Thx,

Hi,
I have written a code to save username and password on client machien using cookie.The code is as follows:-
HttpCookie loginCookie = new HttpCookie("logCoockie");
if (this.Login1.RememberMeSet)
{
//Check if the browser support cookies
if ((Request.Browser.Cookies))
{
//Check if the cookie with name LoginCookie exist on user's machine
//if (loginCookie == null)
//{
//Create a cookie with expiry of 30 days
loginCookie.Expires = DateTime.Now.AddDays(30);
//Write username to the cookie
loginCookie.Values.Add("UNAME", this.Login1.UserName.ToString());
//Write password to the cookie
loginCookie.Values.Add("UPASS", this.Login1.Password.ToString());
//}
//If the cookie already exist then wirte the user name and password on the cookie
//else
//{
// loginCookie.Values.Add("UNAME",this.Login1.UserName.ToString());
// loginCookie.Values.Add("UPASS",this.Login1.Password.ToString());
//}
}
Response.Cookies.Add(loginCookie);
}
else
{
Response.Cookies["logCoockie"].Expires = DateTime.Now.AddDays(-3);
}
But it is not recommended to save such information in cookie.Can anyone help to use any alternative way to save such inforamtion.
Thanks.

I agree with Chrisitan's post below, that's how I would do it probably, but I still don't know what is your scenario, so there could be better way how to achieve what you need.

I would store a GUID on the client side and map that to a user in my database, so that the cookie maps to the login, without anyone being able to access the login from there.

If i use binary data type for image, did i have to upload the image to DB? Is it a must to use upload function with generic handler? if i use upload function, does this means i need to upload images in separate table? i want to put images in my Products table, with all products' details. can i just put image path in DB and display the images in DataList? I need to display images for products, the details and the prices dynamically in repeated columns. I did the handler, but the image didn't appear, just the details appeared. I wonder so hard what's wrong with this. Is it my SqlDataSource or my handler?

How do I check for empty string and update a table
Suppose I have five variable and among which some may be empty and in some ther may be data so I want to write a store procedure which only updates those varable which have data
//some thing like
Create proceuder updatedata(
@parameter1 varchar(max),
@parameter2 varchar(max),
@parameter3 varchar(max),
@parameter4 varchar(max),
@parameter5 varchar(max)
As
If parameter1 !=””
Update it
Otherwise don’t
If parameter2 !=””
Update it
Otherwise don’t

this should be in the SQL forum, but aside from being fairly slow your method should work, depending on the db you are using sql server uses <> for not equals and '' for an empty string. if you know what the blank values should be set to liek their old values you'd be better off passing them and just using one update..and just set the ones that didnt change to their old values.

Thanx for your help and sorry to be in wrong forum,
as per your solution of passing the older value, as i have a fileuploader field in one of the gridview in edit mode where i cannot get the older value so if the user leave the filed as it is and edit other filed this was always sending empty string so i thought of controlling this via store procedure that is update only those value which the user have edited and do not upload picture if fileuploader is left blank.
if u have some code on the store procedure can u please?

you already had the basic code for the stored procedure you need. Its just a set of IF's and UPDATES in sql
IF @val1 <> ''
BEGIN
UPDATE blah SET something = something else WHERE other stuff
END
In the old DataGrid Control there was a EditCommand event that you could use to set the EditItemIndex which changed a row from labels to textboxes or whatever other controls you wanted to use based on the edit item template in the aspx. you can use that event to get whatever value is in the cell that will contain the fileUpload control, if any...if its blank to begin with i dont see the harm in setting it to blank again. oh and you'd have to store the value from that cell in the session, viewstate, or some hidden label on the screen so that you'll have access to it when the user clicks update.

Try this following function,
function GetAscii(c)
{
var car = c;
for(i=0;i<256;i++)
{
if(String.fromCharCode(i) == car)
{
if(i == 97)
{
alert(String.fromCharCode(i+1));
}
else
{
alert(String.fromCharCode(i-1)+','+String.fromCharCode(i+1));
}
}
}
}
This fucntion used to get pre and post characters of passing char.

The class has no constructor so you can't create one. There will already be one where you want it like in a table etc. To add columns to it just follow the instructions in the documentation.[^]
