Hi,
How do i hide my querystring value which is passed from one page to another page through link?
|

|
Hi,
Best is to encrypt the Query String and pass it along.
Have a look at this tutorial.

Hi,
I'm trying to get the key of the GridView into the DetailsView and using Session doesn't seem to work.
The GridView (Parent page) has summaries of the data. I'm using a <select> to get the ID and redirect to the DetailsView page (Child page). 2 different pages.
What I'm currently doing is this
protected void GridView1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Session["ID"] = GridView1.Rows[0].ToString();
Response.Redirect("DetailsPage.aspx");
}
And the DetailsPage has this for getting the parameter
<SelectParameters>
<asp:SessionParameter Name="id" SessionField="ID" Type="Int32" />
</SelectParameters>
I know the problem is that the data types are incompatible but how can I cast the data? Or is the problem more than that.
If this is the wrong way, how can I pass the ID from the parent to the child (different pages)? And I don't want to put the data in the URL.
Thanks.

Its seems like you are not getting values from any of the cells in the GridView. Mostly your Session object would have the text of the data type of GridViewRow like "System.Web....GridViewRow".
try like,
Session["ID"] = GridView1.Rows[0].Cell[cellIndex].Text;
or
Session["ID"] = Convert.ToInt32(GridView1.Rows[0].Cell[cellIndex].Text);
where cellIndex is the index of the gridview's column

Does anyone know of a control that can be used in ASP.NET that if given to blocks of text will show a visual difference of what changed between block text 1 and block text 2. Something similar to Word Compare of 2 documents where it highlights added text and shows a cross-out of deleted text.

Nothing is built in, you'd need to write it.

I have created a backup utility in asp .net that backs up a website along with the sql server data. You have to click a button on a page to begin the backup utility but the users wants the utility to automatically run daily without having to manually click the button. How can I set it up so it automactically runs?

Adding to what Christian said, you can create a console application which takes backup and exits automatically. Schedule it using windows scheduler. It's simple.

I use Microsoft Visual Web Designer 2005. I use the ASP.NET membership controls, visitors need to log in to access our website. I want to display on the website how many members are registered in the membership database. It's a pain to count them myself, there must be a way to automate this task.
Example: "There are 89 active members"
I don't write code, but can create queries, connections, and connections strings ect. The table is aspnet_Membership and the row is UserID.
I have searched and searched to no avail. Help please! Thank you!

Thank you! And how do I get that query to display the result as a number? Would it be a label or text box or something?

Hi all
I am using Accordion Ajax extender tool in my user control. There are around 5 panes and each pane loads usercontrol at the page load.
I have applied following style to the accordion header using style sheet class.
.accordionHeader
{
border: 1px solid #0063A0;
color: white;
background-color: #002B55;
font-family: Arial, Sans-Serif;
font-size: 10px;
font-weight: bold;
padding: 5px;
margin-top: 3px;
cursor: pointer;
}
<cc1accordian:Accordion ID="ntAccordion" runat="server" SelectedIndex="0" CssClass="accordionStyle"
HeaderCssClass="accordionHeader" HeaderSelectedCssClass="accordionHeaderSelected"
ContentCssClass="accordionContent" FadeTransitions="false" FramesPerSecond="40"
TransitionDuration="250" AutoSize="None" RequireOpenedPane="false" SuppressHeaderPostbacks="true">
<Panes>
<cc1accordian:AccordionPane ID="apane1" runat="server">
<Header>
<asp:Label ID="lblSpeed" runat="server" Style="position: relative" Text="Header One"
CssClass="labelfont"></asp:Label>
</Header>
<Content> .... </Content>
This style is applied correctly when page is loaded into IE7, but in IE6, there is no style applied. Has anyone experienced this problem before? Please help me

Do you use Firefox? If so, look in 'Tools->Error Console' and you see why the function isn't getting called.
If you're still not sure then post back the error message here.

I have no idea what you're talking about. If you're using an SMS API, the people who wrote and/or use that, are the people who can help you.
