Can you elaborate a little more about the problem?

Please don't flood the forum with every trivial problem. We'd love to help you, but we'd like to feel you've done some work to get some sort of clue yourself, too.
The message means what it says. If you rename it, and you've already written the code, it won't rename it. No real web developer uses the drag and drop stuff to build UI.

switch to source html view
then rename the text box
then compile your project
then you will find some errors because of the old name of the textbox.

What do you want to do here, create an Excel on the server, and send it to the client ? You can control Excel through the Microsoft Tools for Office, or Excel can open a CSV

I would assume there's a property for that on the control. Do you have an ASP.NET book yet ? You should get one.

Dear Friends,
I'm using Visual Studio .Net 2005 _ ASP.Net C# Language.
and has the following problem:
I have GridView control, inside Update panel, has an "update" link button, when the user presses on it, the two link buttons appear "Update" and "Cancel". I want the webform to be posted back if this update link button be pressed.
This is because the Gridview has a column contains "FileUpload" control and I can't get the file name unless the page be posted back.
Can you help me?
Regards,
Egyptian Developer

Update panel has PostBackTrigger,You can use that to postback the page
<triggers>
<asp:postbacktrigger controlid="UpdateButtonControlID" />
</triggers>

You are right and I know this info. but the update panel doesn't see any control (update link button) inside other control(Gridview).

You mean handling this in the event
GridView_RowUpdating(object sender, GridViewUpdateEventArgs e)
if so, can you send code snippet?

I don't know that this will work or not but I think it should work.
You have scriptManager on the page that has one method to register post back control.you can set control in this method
this is an example
GridView_RowUpdating(object sender, GridViewUpdateEventArgs e)
{
ScriptManager sp = new ScriptManager();
Control cntr=(Control)sender;
sp.RegisterPostBackControl(cntr);
}

I tried RowUpdating event but it does not work
but when I tried RowEditing Event it works
GridView_RowEditing(object sender, GridViewUpdateEventArgs e)
{
ScriptManager1.RegisterPostBackControl((Control)sender);
}
But it doesn't work for the first trial of editing any row.
I think when editing any row for the first trial, the register occurs
but be executed the next time you try to edit a row for the second trial.
so; calling this method ScriptManager1.RegisterPostBackControl is not valid in GridView_RowEditing Event also; but makes it semi work

you can't publish a web site without publishing aspx files. So, anyone can edit them if they have access to the server.
