When I want to load an RSS file using its URL, below error will be appeared:
A socket operation encountered a dead network [IP Number]
Maybe the problem is because of using a proxy server for internet connection. I've used Isa-Server to connect to internet. So I tried to use NetworkCredential but it can't solve the problem:
System.Net.NetworkCredential networkCredential = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(myUserName, myPassword, myDomain);
XmlUrlResolver xmlUrlResolver = new XmlUrlResolver();
xmlUrlResolver.Credentials = networkCredential;
XmlReaderSettings xmlReaderSettings = new XmlReaderSettings();
xmlReaderSettings.XmlResolver = xmlUrlResolver;
XmlReader xmlReader = XmlReader.Create(txtRssUrl.Text.Trim(), xmlReaderSettings);
How can I load an RSS file using its URL?

What is not working ?
You need to add this three thing on GridView1_PageIndexChanging events
GridView1.PageIndex = e.NewPageIndex ;
GridView1.DataSource = Ds;
GridView1.DataBind();

Hi all,
I am using this code on aspx page from where i open model window:
function AddValue(Param)
{
var winSettings = 'center=yes,left=150px,top=150px,status=yes,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=300,height=300';
var Status=window.showModalDialog('/Scheduling/View/DataInput/AddPopup.aspx?Key='+Param,'',winSettings);
document.getElementById('ctl00_CPHMain_hdnCheck').value=Status;
document.getElementById('ctl00_CPHMain_hdnKey').value=Param;
if(Status==1)
{
return true;
}
else
{
return false;
}
}
and using this code on model window:
function CloseWindow(returnValue)
{
window.returnValue =returnValue;
window.close();
}
calling this function for returning value while closing window:
<asp:ImageButton ID="btnSave" runat="server" OnClick="btnSubmit_Click" CausesValidation="true" ToolTip="Click here to Save" SkinID="save" > </asp:ImageButton>
<img src="../../App_Themes/White/Images/btn_cancel.jpg" alt="cancel" onclick="CloseWindow(0);" title="Click here to close window" id="IMG1" />
Now problem is that when i click on image which is use for cancel then it close with return value 0 but at the time of saving when i click on image button for saving its looks llkes as other window is open and close after saving but this model window remains same.
On mozilla its working well but on ie7 i m getting this problem

That's because you are doing a postback in a modal window. (That's "modal", not "model"...) You can't post a form to a modal window, that is why it opens in a new window.
If you want a modal window and want to make a postback, open a frameset page in the modal window that contains a frame that opens the page. That of course means that the returnValue property is in the frameset page, i.e. the parent of the page in the frame.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

but this problem is not occurring in mozilla,why so

I don't know, I have actually never tried a modal window in Mozilla. They probably just didn't set that limitation on modal windows.

I've come across a tutorial about using wizard control, and, it seems pretty good for a couple of screens I had in mind.
I would like to create conditionals, for example if the user selected an option within step one, step two would be a particular screen, whilst, if the user selected another option, another screen would be displayed. Is this possible?

Yes You can create It easily
I have just made a small sample for you . Just Add a Wizard , Wizard1. Add 4 Steps. Now in Second Step I have added two option button . I want if user select Option1, It will go to Step3 or if select it will go to step 4.
Here is the demo code
protected void Wizard1_NextButtonClick(object sender, WizardNavigationEventArgs e)
{
switch (e.CurrentStepIndex)
{
case 1:
if (RadioButton1.Checked)
Wizard1.ActiveStep = 2;
else if (RadioButton2.Checked)
Wizard1.ActiveStep = 3;
break;
}
}
Hope This will do for you

Thanks... however...
in order to bind the 'Next' button to the Wizard1_NextButtonClick event what should I do?
Wizard1.ActiveStep is 'read-only' hence the statement Wizard1.ActiveStep will not compile.
Would you know how to bind the control to an SQL database programmatically or have some link to a tutorial?
I've found tutorials however, they were not specific to Wizard Controls.

I am using two update panels in the page. Following is the code:
<asp:updatepanel id="UpdatePanel1" runat="server" updatemode="Conditional" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
<asp:updatepanel id="UpdatePanel2" runat="server" updatemode="Conditional">
The first one fires on a textbox change which is working perfectly fine. The second one is to be fired on the change of a dropdownlist.
Eventhough the dataset contains data and binded to the dropdown list, the data is not displaying in the dropdown. Am I doing something wrong here?
When I removed the update panel and tried to execute, it is displaying correctly. Should there be a different value for the Update Mode? Anybody can provide any help on this? Thanks in advance for any help.

meeram395 wrote: The second one is to be fired on the change of a dropdownlist.
So, did you call the UpdatePanel2.Update() ; from that dropdown list changed.
When you have changed the update mode of a updatepanel to conditional , you need to call the update method explicitly.
Hope this will clears your doubts

Yeah, I have done that. But still it is not firing. Following is my full code:
HTML Code:
------------
<td>
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel2" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:DropDownList ID="CompanyList" CssClass="PCMSDropDown" runat="server" Height="22px" Width="155px" AutoPostBack="True" AppendDataBoundItems="true"
onselectedindexchanged="CompanyList_SelectedIndexChanged">
<asp:ListItem Selected ="True" Text="--Please Select--"></asp:ListItem>
</asp:DropDownList></ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
<asp:UpdateProgress ID="UpdateProgress2" AssociatedUpdatePanelID="UpdatePanel2" runat="server" >
<ProgressTemplate>
<span class="ProgressBar">Data Loading.Please Wait....</span></ProgressTemplate>
</asp:UpdateProgress></td>
<td>
<asp:DropDownList ID="ProjectList" runat="server" CssClass="PCMSDropDown"
Height="23px" Width="155px"></asp:DropDownList></td>
Codebehind:
-------------
protected void CompanyList_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
{
int CompanyId = Convert.ToInt32(CompanyList.SelectedValue);
Pcms.Business.Project p = new Project();
DataSet dsprojects = p.GetProjects_Companywise(CompanyId);
ProjectList.DataSource = dsprojects.Tables[0];
ProjectList.DataTextField = "ProjectName";
ProjectList.DataValueField = "ProjectId";
ProjectList.DataBind();
UpdatePanel2.Update();
}
}
Please correct me if I am doing wrong anything here.
