Hi.
I have been given a legacy dot net 1.1 system to maintain. It uses bounds controls and templates. I am not allowed to scrap the techniques used.
I have to introduce another column after "Question [Yes]" which has an image and a text field with a click event. But it is only enabled (displayed), if the data value of "DataItem.YesQuestionID" = 0.
Anyone know how to do this please?
Many thanks.

<TD colSpan="2"><asp:datagrid id="grdQuestionnaire" runat="server" CssClass="labeltext" Width="100%" Font-Size="X-Small"
AutoGenerateColumns="False">
<Columns>
<asp:TemplateColumn HeaderText="Question">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Label id="lblQuestion" runat="server" ToolTip='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container, "DataItem.QuestionText") %>'>
<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container, "DataItem.QuestionID") %>
</asp:Label>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateColumn>
<asp:TemplateColumn HeaderText="Question [Yes]">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Label id="lblYesQuestion" runat="server" ToolTip='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container, "DataItem.YesQuestionText") %>'>
<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container, "DataItem.YesQuestionID") %>
</asp:Label>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateColumn>
<asp:TemplateColumn HeaderText="Question [No]">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Label id="lblNoQuestion" runat="server" ToolTip='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container, "DataItem.NoQuestionText") %>'>
<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container, "DataItem.NoQuestionID") %>
</asp:Label>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateColumn>
</Columns>
</asp:datagrid></TD>
</TR>
</pre>
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<pre>
Private Sub LoadQuestionnaireDetails()
Dim QuestionnaireDS As Questionnaire = New Questionnaire
QuestionnaireDS = data.GetQuestionnaireDetails(cboQuestionnaire.SelectedValue)
grdQuestionnaire.DataSource = QuestionnaireDS
grdQuestionnaire.DataBind()
End Sub
</pre>

Which bit in particular are you having a problem with?

I need to be able to display new column, (with an image and some text), depending on the value of an existing column in the dataset. I get the feeling that I will have to trawl through the grid collection and test the necessary column value for each record. Am I on the right track?

Yes. You can check each row individually in the OnItemDataBound event and set the image visibility accordingly.

Hi all,
In my application i am using a Login Control and already there are some menus on it.But when i enter user name and password and press Enter key it doesn't go on to the login button.
Can any one tell how to do it??
Thanks in advance....

you will have to learn configuration tool of visual studio in order to use login control..... which create automatically some tables and in your given database...for login and other related purpose...

Is this really related to creating tables using configuration tools??
|
|
|
|

dear not only related to creating tables many more things...
that tool facilitate you to manage user roles,management of webparts,smtp settings... and many more things without writing a single line of code.
choice is yours...
if you want to do login verification only then create your own table of login instead of using login control...

I've got a gridview showing products with they're prices. I'd like a checkbox next to each item, so that a user could select multiple products and then display in the footer the sum of the prices selected.
I'm normally a winforms developer, so the client-side vs server-side thing is still new to me. But I'm guessing this needs to be done with client javascript to prevent a postback. And I don't want make any changes to the database side).
I really have no idea where to start, can someone please just point in right direction to do this with javascript?
Oh and I'm still on .Net 2.0

You are right. This has to be done using JS. Here[^] is an article. When each checkbox is checked, you need to get the price and sum it.

Look, you can start by attaching a check changed handler. Have a look at this [^]example.

Next, step would be sum up the price in a client variable when ever a item is checked and subtract it whenevr it is unchecked.
Now, show this value in footre/(or wherever)

That does not matter.

Did you change the connection string in web.config ? if yes, Which option are your selecting during installation? Select Auto Option. It will automatically upgrade your database.

First off, I have heard a lot of people have problems with DNN 5.0. Try installing 4.9 instead.
For really good guides, take a look at Michael Washington's site. DNN installations are explained in great detail...

In my form, I have two dropdownists called Countries and States which are dynamically generating. These controls are generating only at the run time and the Country dropdown gets loaded for the first time.
I have written code for the SelectedIndexchanged of the Country dropdown so that the corresponding States also will get updated in the States dropdownlists. These are all working fine.
My issue is these are working in a Postback condition. Can I use an UpdatePanel dynamically so that the User doesn't get an impression that the page is actually posting back. Any idea how to create the Update panels dynamically so as to include both the dropdownlists and populate without a postback? Thanks for any help.
