If it's the primary key, why not make it an identity ? Either way, why not write a data layer, or at least write code to a semi professional standard ?

Well, this code is excrable. Why would you assume that any postback is a new row ? Why would you not do all your code for an insertion inside your event ? Why would you not have a data layer ?
Everything about this code is terrible. You should buy a book on ASP.NET and one on ADO.NET, and read them before writing any code. I assume no-one is paying for this code, if they are, you are a liar and a thief.

Well, I am sure they know their website would cost $12000 to write in the US, and believe that the $50 they are paying this guy will get the same result. They probably deserve each other.

Not without the code in question making an AJAX call to check the status on the server side, or the status on the server being passed to the client beforehand.

If you are using Sessions to check if the user is logged in then it can be done on the server side by check the null for the session. or you can still do it on the client site.

Is it necessary to install asp.net on that computer on which a deploy project of asp.net is installed.and if it is a web application then how we get domain for it and a perticuler site name.
|
|
|

Yes You Need To Install all the features of asp.net in which u r using for the local system i.e. for example u r using chart control for the chart control u have dowload chart control in local system .The same control should be daowloade at the client system
They Are So many domain providers in which u need to pay amount depending upon the capacity for example godaddy is one of the provider

It seems to me that you are a very poor candidate for the person to deploy ( or write ) an ASP.NET site, if you're asking this. Perhaps you need a book ?

In Host System you need to install .netframe work(dotnetfx)of your developed project. If you use .net2.0 then install dotnetfx2.0.If net3.5 then dotnetfx3.5.Need not install asp.net on host System.Take domain from the domain serivce provider like whois, godaddy.
In Host create a virtual directory for your application.

Hi
I have a peculiar problem here and I can't by my life figure out what the solution is. Note that the following code is not dynamically created, but just immediately in my aspx file.
Submit
This works just fine as long as I don't have the onclick attribute there, i.e. the OnServerClick handler is fired as it should. But when I use the onclick attribute it is not, no matter whether I confirm or decline the confirmation dialog box.
Even if I do like following for is never submitted
Submit
What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Im not realy sure but i think you can only have one event per control.
|
|
|
|
|
No, you are wrong. You can have an OnClick and an OnClientClick.

The answers you are getting are wrong.
Server events are a mirage. They get replaced with client side events. You need to write an OnClientClick event if you want to have javascript run in your code. ASP.NET is going to replace anything else you write, with an onclick, which is the proper HTML that needs to be written for all the browsers on earth, so if you write it, you're fighting ASP,NET

i m using C#.net app with access database
i have a employee table with the following columns
Sr.NO(PK), Employee_ID, Category_ID, Image_ID, Description
i want to display the records on the basis of category selected from drop down and then following that Category ID i want to pick the relevant Employee_ID and want to display the name from another table on the basis of that ID
any idea how and where to display that record ??
|
|
|
|

First of all you need to bind one Dropdown list with the Category field. When user select the category you need to execute another query to pickup the name from DB and bind it wherever you want.
