I expect so, but I'd expect it to be a lot of work. You'd need javascript to post the form back, make sure that it posts back with the data you need, you'd need to check the values when then viewstate tree is recreated, etc.

I didn't really understood your reply but what I mean is not only for ASP.net. The same question is for vb.net too. Take any control existing in vb.net, I would like to add to it an event that it doesn't have using EventHandler, delegate, Event, raisevent...
Thank you

Well, if you think the answer is going to be the same for both ASP.NET and winforms, then apart from being in the wrong forum, it's clear you don't really understand what ASP.NET is and does.

Well, I think the fact that you didn't understand me means you won't do this any time soon for ASP.NET, but for winforms, it's not too hard, I would think.

Hi,
Theme-->Title?
If you want to set the page title, try this: Master.Page.Title = "Your page title".

Im getting the error while converting xml to a dataset.Please help me.
Cannot add a column named 'PerUser': a nested table with the same name already belongs to this DataTable.

I suspect the error means what it says. What have you done to try to correct it ?

Im converting xml file to dataset using the following code.
TextWriter twHistory = new StreamWriter(location + ".xml");
twHistory.WriteLine(XMLdoc);
twHistory.Close();
DataSet dsHistoryXml = new DataSet();
dsHistoryXml.ReadXml(location + ".xml");
While reading the xml document the above mentioned error returns.

I used embedded mp. in my web site. When i used an mp4 file as target with http protocol(ex. http://212.10.22.22/xx.mp4), it doesnt play. but when i used it as local file(c:\xx.mp4) it plays. There is no file location mistake. Because i can download from http://212.10.22.22/xx.mp4 (this is a sample location.) Wİndows media player itself cant open it from http address(from url). But Media player classic or vlc player can. And lastly not all files behave like this. I can play some files in embedded media player with both http and local conditions. Code snippet:
OBJECT ID="Player" CLASSID="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6"
WIDTH="440"
HEIGHT="380"
PARAM NAME="AutoStart" VALUE="True"
PARAM NAME="URL" VALUE="http://212.10.22.22/xxx.mp4" ...
Please help.this is vey serious

You can simply do it usign AJAX. Try to use AJAX UpdatePanel and UpdateProgressBar .

there are two ways to achieve this..
if you are using ajax then you need to put gif like
http://www.cis.uab.edu/forensics/blog/loading.gif[^]
in your update progress control which is related to ajax update panel.
or second thing if you want to handle it manually then you can show and hide it on start and end of each event manually.

Dear All,
Could somebody tell me how to call selectedindexchanged event during page_load event...
All the best
|
|
|
|
|
I assume you want to trigger that event during page_load.
Why don't you put the code in the event handler in some other method (a new one, which you must implement). Then you call the new method both in the event handler and in handler for page_load?

use this..
Create this in page load and call the SelectedIndexChanged
object sender1 = new object();
EventArgs e1 =new EventArgs();
DropDownList1_SelectedIndexChanged(sender1, e1);
event:
protected void DropDownList1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
}

I created a web service with a method in it that returns the client's IP address. If I "view in browser" on the web service, the method works. If I call that method from a desktop application, The method throws an exception because HttpContext.Current is null .
How should I go about retrieving the client's IP address?
Here's the line I'm trying to use:
string clientIP = HttpContext.Current.Request.UserHostAddress;

It worked for me. HttpContext was not null when I tried. You can also try this.Context.Request.UserHostAddress as well.

This doesn't work either. Remember - I'm making the call from a desktop application - not a ASP.net web page.

That's not going to make a property in HttpContext null is it? In fact, if there was a missing using , it wouldn't even compile.
