I am developing a web application in ASP.NET, using Visual Studio 2010 - Framework 4.0, that is to be run under IE 8 only. To establish horizontal scrollbars with the GridView when the contents of a grid will be wider than the established page width (1280), I am placing the grid inside a tag that has its style set to style="-ms-overflow-x:scroll;width:100%;". Below is a shorthand/skeleton code example of the HTML being used. The horizontal scrollbar works for most of the users, but some users do not get the scrollbar at all and, therefore, cannot see the entire contents of the grid. They are all using the same browser so I suspect a simple configuration issue but I have not determined the issue. Does anyone know why the scrollbar would not show up in the browser for some users?
Thanks...
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%">
<tr>
<td>
<div id="GridViewContainer" style="-ms-overflow-x:scroll;width:100%;">
<asp:GridView ID="grdTest" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" Width="200%">
......
</asp:GridView>
</div>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

You are saying browser for all is same but the resolution may be different.
Check with the different resolutions.

Thanks for the reply. I expect the issue is related to a configuration difference but it is not the resolution as the resolution on the 'failing' PCs is the same as that on the successful PCs.
Thanks Again...

Please tell me what is the problem with this code???
function VeriYaz(id) {
$.ajax({
type: 'GET',
url: 'VeriAl.aspx',
data: 'id=' + id,
async: false,
success: function (data) {
var isim = data;
this.form.elements["TextBox1"].value = isim.toString();
}
});
}
It doesnt even go to the given url... Yes it gets id succesfully but no data turning back...
Thanks all...

So nobody knows why???
Would it be just because of the starting tag of asynx page?? :
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="VeriAl.aspx.cs" Inherits="Ads4WebClient.VeriAl" %>
Cause it gives an error when I try to change CodeFile into CodeBehind??? And, I tried to open a new project to apply the code and see what happens, the asynx pages starting tag was like this:
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="VeriAl.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication2.VeriAl" %>

You have to post to a webservice .asmx or something similar
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
url: "ws_SavedItems.asmx/update_SavedItems_ItemQty",
data: "{\"qty_Value\" : " + secure_Qty + ", \"secure_CartID\" : " + secure_CartID + ", \"part_Number\" : \"" + part_Number + "\", \"secure_Token\" : \"" + secure_Token + "\"}",
dataType: "json",
success: function (responseText) {
eval('(' + responseText.d + ')');
var obj = jQuery.parseJSON(responseText.d);
result_Value = obj.result_value;
qty_value = obj.qty_value;
price_value = obj.price_value;
totalPrice_value = obj.totalPrice_value;
instantSavings_value = obj.instantSavings_value;
masterImage_value = obj.masterImage_value;
description_value = obj.description_value;

Hello all,
I use .NET 2.0 (still) and I have an urgent requirement to build a Calendar + Scheduler like in Hotmail.
Which approach is better? .NET Ajax Control or a HTML + Ajax page?
I am inclined towards writing a .NET Ajax control. But don't really know where and how to start. I am lost, totally. Can someone guide me please?
Thanks in advance,
Venkat Renuka Prasad.

Hey Richard, I am not advertising this. I just know about this by today.
So i just want to discuss about this with members who already work with Ext.Net.
Thanks for advice ,
I will write an article about this

Hi,
Hi,
I need to call 3 tables in business layer by using List Collection.
1)I NEED QUERY Clntmast table with clientname.Column
Returned are clientid,cl_Colno# etc.
2)Then i need to query Colector table with cl_Colno#.
how to proceed
BAL:
#region ShowDetails based on client dropdown change event
public System.Collections.Generic.List<SpecialUser> ShowDetails(string strClientName)
{
SearchClientDataAccess user = new SearchClientDataAccess();
System.Collections.Generic.List<SpecialUser> lstSpecialUser = new System.Collections.Generic.List<SpecialUser>();
lstSpecialUser = user.ShowClientDetails(strClientName);
foreach (SpecialUser specialUser in lstSpecialUser)
{
if (specialUser.cl_Cred != "")
{
specialUser.cl_Colno = user.GetCredMastDetails(specialUser.cl_Cred.ToString().Trim());
}
if (specialUser.cl_Colno != "")
{
user.GetColectorDetails(specialUser.cl_Colno.ToString().Trim());
}
}
return lstSpecialUser;
}
#endregion
Entities for Special user:
<pre><pre lang="c#">
public class SpecialUser
{
public string ClientName { get; set; }
public string ClientId { get; set; }
public string Time { get; set; }
public string Role { get; set; }
public string User { get; set; }
#region VARIABLES READ FROM CLNMAST TABLE
public string HeadClientName { get; set; }
public string cl_client { get; set; }
public string cl_clntie { get; set; }
public string cl_Clname { get; set; }
public string CM_Req { get; set; }
public string CM_Cname { get; set; }
public string Ext { get; set; }
public string HCredMgrName3 { get; set; }
public string cl_Cred { get; set; }
public string cl_Colno { get; set; }
public string CO_Req { get; set; }
public string CO_Colnam { get; set; }
public string HCollectorName3 { get; set; }
#endregion
Will the list will return all columns of Credmast and collector table?
ShowClientDetails method will get cl_Cred etc.
Based on cl_Cred value then call another method GetCredMastDetails
The return lstSpecialUser will get whole columns for 3 methods.
Thanks

I am having a problem with my MVC 3 application that I and a remote developer have been working on together. At some point in the development of this MVC 3 project, adding or removing a property in the model is not recognized by the view(aspx page) when the source code is displayed in Visual Studio 2010. The view also cannot link up to the master page any longer. If I create a new view, it has the same symptoms. Assigning the master page at the top of the page produces a green line under the path text indicating that it cannot locate the master page under "~/Views/Shared/MasterPage1.Master". I have verified that the master page is in the correct location in both solution Explorer and Windows Explorer.
Something appears to have broken in the internal file mapping for this MVC project. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this strange problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!
I ran into a problem today when we installed our project to our IIS machine. (Running IIS 7.5)
I turned on windows authentication, I added an "allow" rule for an AD group and a "deny" rule for the other users. The strange thing was that from the 6 users in that particular AD group the 4 that were part of the Domain Admins group were able to use the site but the users who were only Domain Users could not.
This really frustrated me, because I don't want to make everybody a Domain Admin who uses the site. What can I do???

Why Deploy Solution Files?
You should not simply copy files to deploy your SharePoint application to a web farm with multiple servers. Instead, by deploying solution files in lieu of manually copying them, you can avoid errors that might otherwise occur if you were to attempt to uninstall the solution manually. Furthermore, it's cumbersome to have to alter your web.config files manually, and deploy custom dynamic linked libraries to the GAC, and to each and every bin folder on multiple servers—just to deploy a web application. In essence, deploying Solution Packages is both easier and more robust than copying files manually.
Creating and Deploying SharePoint Solution Files
Here's a step-by-step approach to creating and deploying a SharePoint Solution Package.
Figure 1. Create a Sample Project: Create a new ASP.NET Web Application project.
Create a Sample Web Application Project
Open Visual Studio and select File → New → Project from the menu. Select the ASP.NET Web Application template from the list of available templates.

1) Wrong forum. If this were an actual question it should be in the SharePoint forum not the ASP.NET forum
2) Creating a ASP.NET Web Application is not how you create a SharePoint solution package.
3) Not even a question.

It will if that is the way you have coded it.
You have given very little information in which to answer the question. We have no idea what properties the SpecialUser class contains nor any idea what the ShowClientDetails method does.

I have a main page in an asp.net web application and there are links (href) in the page that points to another pages with parameters.
When a user clicks on one of the links, he can see the full url path including the page name and the parameters sent to it in the browser's address bar.
Is there a way to keep the address bar always on the root path?
I've seen such behavior in a few web sites.
Thanks.
