How to disable WM2003 CAB install alert
Introduction
When I move my pocket PC 2003 projects to Windows Mobile, like Dell X50, Windows mobile will show a message like "The program you installed may not be displayed correctly....". This is because Windows mobile supports LandScape display mode. But your program did not support it. There is no way to disable this alert by playing with the registry. Upgrading the SDK is of no use either. But you can add a trick into your INF file of cab.
Add "BuildMax=0xE0000000" to the [CEDevice.ARM] section.
For other cabs, if you cannot build the cab yourself, there is another way to disable the message by editing the cab file. Because the cab file for mobile device is not compressed; you can open the cab file with VC or EVC in Binary mode.
Mostly, the first file section is the INF file which starts with "MSCF....". This is right. Then find another place "MSCE", then keep going forward 47 bytes, you can see the value is 00. Change it to E0. Then Windows mobile will not show the message when this cab is installed. Actually, this changing will do the same thing as adding "BuildMax...." into the INF file.

About the Download
In the download, there is just a tool. You can select the cab file, and it will find the right place and change it for you. Actually it is very easy, isn't it?
