How is a program executed inside the computer hardware when we execute a program

I want to know the whole execution process of a program when we doubele-click/execute it.

I know that when we double -click a program, it is being loaded into the primary memory.
I want to know what happens next and how the program is executed by the CPU.

Can someone guide me to some article where my problem is explained.
